Because the kids should decide based on the universities and the opportunities those universities give them, not what coaches are there. In theory at least.

If I put it in the context of a job (because if we're being honest, these kids are *more* like employees than they are the traditional student), I make my career decisions not solely based on salary and career growth opportunities, but by and large based on the people I'd be working with and the leadership in place. Obviously if you want to pay me 2x/3x what another company is worth, I'm willing to entertain the idea and compare/contrast, but all else being relatively similar, the people matter. I'd be willing to bet that those on the rant who are actually in a real career position and not just a job made those same considerations as well.
Secondary to the program's ability to showcase them, would be what the degree might be able to do for them, but when considering major public institutions, there just isn't a big enough difference there between the 30th ranked academic institution and the 75th for example. Particularly for kids that are more likely to get funneled into degree programs that will optimize their chance to remain academically eligible.

Absolutely none if they act desperate.
You have no leverage, period. The best you can hope to create is a sense of urgency, but for a 4/5* prospect, he's going to get a scholarship somewhere... Being desperate just helps to push them farther out the door.

Nothing probably, but Moorehead is a young coach. He is still learning the ropes, everyone makes mistakes.
This is probably fair, but my question is less about Moorehead and more about coaches in general. What value is there in posting *publically* to social media other than letting your marketing team run it for you to function as a hype channel. I understand the DM thing with recruits has been a backdoor channel for dead periods for a while now, but I just don't see value in making anything other than "cheerleader" type posts on Twitter for coaches.
To his credit, decent apology message that seems sincere went out today. Hopefully he did indeed learn a lesson from this. It might serve him well at his next gig.

I can't stop staring at this. Kudos to the magnificent bastard that created it.
Yeah, that was good quality. Particularly the Manziel shop there. It oddly makes me think of a dark haired Peyton Manning for some reason with MJ's forehead and Manziel's ears.

Pathetic organization. Fans should demand a change

Love hearing all the Aggies talk about for a year how Martell was going to be the next Manziel and now they are saying they didn't want him and knew he would decommit. Lol Hell just 4 months ago they were saying he's trying to enroll this summer and play this year

Same thing happened with Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray. One week they are talking about how good they are and after they jump ship all the sudden they suck. Aggy can't cope with the fact that the rats are jumping off the sinking ship.

Maybe they can dominate the WAC conference since it is a little wacky at A&M

I've got Oceanfront property in Arizona to sell you too... Clearly you like to eat spoonfed bullshite.
I am just saying that is the way the "amateur" model is sold. I am well aware it's bullshite, but I wish we would stop with the pretenses.

But if you have a good poker face you might not get called on your bluff. Sometimes kids don't have a full grasp of the situation

Yeah you are probably right about that.
