Scout puts too much emphasis on class size IMO.

And people around the country wonder why when we get to the BCSNCG we win it all. Look at what we play against, week in and week out.

Here's to the SEC

It's difficult to get above 5th, with a class of less than 25 on Scout. Alabama signed 23, and was #1 on Rivals and #3 on ESPN, but out of the top five on Scout.

Our average star rating is pretty solid. It's just a small class.

We got the #1QB, #1FB, #2P etc.

The FB and P only got 3 stars.

It's a decent class. We'll sign a full class next year.

UF has some really nice players coming in. None of teh Team rankings are perfect but ESPN was way different from everyone else. You could tell though as they talk about Driskel...I think Luginbill had to excuse himself to the bathroom each time they talked ab out him. I think he will be a great QB but control yourself.

how the hell are they #7 on Scout and #1 on Rival

Scout is better and more accurate, thats how

Someone is going to have to explain Scout's formula to me. au only has 3 of Scout's top 100 recruits which is lowest among the top 12 teams on Scout but is somehow ranked #1? Bama has 7 top 100. Bama is so low because we only have 22 recruits which is lower than any other team above us besides Texas.

Whoever above it was that said au was 400 points out front is not accurate btw.

Did you hear how they do rankings? Not on potential or character, etc; it's based on needs addressed.

Someone needs to tell ESPN this isn't the NFL draft.

While I agree a point system is better, looking at needs addressed does make some sense. Not that this could happen, but a team could sign the top 3 QBs and the top 4 RBs and have a great class on paper but not all those kids can play.

That and they have ghey stipulations on rating juco recruits. That's the reason we are higher on Rivals.

I think a lot of the difference is rival's ranks the top 20 signings and scout avg's out all of the signing's if I understand correctly.

I like ESPN's ratings. They base it on caliber of players and needs met. Class size is a small part of their rankings.

Class size screws up Scout's rankings, and Rivals only ranking the top 20 is ridiculous.

Ultimately, averaging the 3 together gives you a pretty good idea of where your class stands relative to everyone else.

Ultimately, the ranking is just something to brag about.

And it provides a general guideline for which teams are the haves and have nots in college football.

Why wouldnt you rate a total class package on needs...just because you sign 9 RBs 5 stars doesnt mean you have a good class.

Rivals and Scout should both add a point tier for fulfilling class needs.
