So just to be crystal clear, your claim is Texas has had a harder schedule on average than A&M since we joined the SEC, correct?
We aren't claiming anything, ESPN has put this data out for a long time. Everyone uses it, and past seasons are easily determined by FPI. If it shows a stronger SOS by Texas over A&M, then it's a fact based on the data used.

tu and zero u are their only games of consequence.

Okay. So now considering that our OOC schedules over the past 10 years have been at a minimum average (Clemson twice, UCLA twice, Arizona State, Louisiana), then going by the source you are citing, one would have to conclude that the SEC West on average was easier than the Big 12 on average?
Yes?
Yes?

Good. More interceptions.

I doubt there will be any new teams in the playoffs. Everybody that makes it will have made it before.

Depends on the team. Alabama has the highest FPI in 2020 and obviously can't play itself, but their opponents SOS will improve because of them.

When you’re boiling it down to the SEC west specifically? No it doesn’t. The East games rotation averages out over there the time period we’re talking about.
Here’s the bottom line. You can say UT has had a harder schedule than A&M over the past decade. You just just also have to say the Big 12, on average, has been better than the SEC West, on average, over the past decade. You can’t have one and not the other.

Iowa State will be damn good this year. Wouldn’t be surprised if they went on a tear and got in.

It’s quite simple actually.
Texas has played 11 or 12 P5 games every year since 2012. A&M has never played 11.. it is always 9 or 10 (including bowls).
Your SOS gets dinged because you play at least 3 schools who are blind & deaf every year.. If you played 11 or 12 P5 games every year, then your assumption would be true if Texas had a harder SOS.
2012 to 2019 - Texas had a harder SOS because Texas played more P5 games.
2020 - A&M had a harder SOS because A&M played more P5 games.
It’s as simple as that.

It's really not. If you think anyone in the Big 12 had a tougher schedule than every team in the SEC west over the past decade, you are laughably insane. And yes, you are saying it about every SEC West team, as they all generally share the schedule structure you just outlined.
I know teams like Maryland may strike fear down the spine of UTa fans, but believe it or not most other programs don't have the same reaction.
So once again, you're insane.

We will see. Expect A&M to throw more downfield this year.
How? Their QB is very green and very wet behind the ears, their OL is shite, and their receiver corp is very mediocre.

Iowa St. is a long shot but they are better than most give them credit.
Give me a break, ULL beat them at their house and they recruit on a par with the likes of Baylor, Texas Tech, and Vanderbilt?

Man...only retards would be mentally deficient enough to reference the ESPN FPI, which is the biggest joke in college football.

A&M has never won the West which obviously means they have never been to ATL. It’s laughable to think they will make a playoff, haha. Florida more than likely of the teams listed. But they are a joke too.

Just because something hasn't happen doesnt mean it's laughable. They did finish as a top 5 team last year. Plus you are talking a decade stretch for am in the sec .. it's not like it's been not 75 years or something ... Anyways I'm not a a&m truther .. don't think they will make it ... But it's not laughable

Cinn. Has an inside track.
Ranked Top 10 in both polls.
It is mathematically impossible for more than 3 teams ranked above them to go undefeated.
Gets ND after a ByE and IU in back to back weeks.
Has a Heisman candidate at QB and a star RB, plus returning almost everyone.
Now, they probably lose to ND, but if they can win and go 13-0.. It will be interesting Dec 5th.

No, no we are not. There are several SEC west teams who have a strong schedule. A&M just isn't one of them most years.

I cant even begin to imagine how one keeps that level of cognitive dissonance going

Cincy last season was the newest version of UCF, which was the newest version of Boise State. G-5s who have caught lightning for a brief moment. How do these guys get in without an expanded playoff? Again, it's never happened.
Cincinnati plays at Notre Dame and at Indiana this year. If they win those two and the rest of their games, this is the best chance a GO5 team will ever have to make it.
