If you believe in ESPN's FPI they are no. 6 toughest. There has to be some truth to that. They play ranked Iowa, Texas, and Oklahoma. Team schedule rankings

They have one of the best backfields in the country and they play in the big 12
If they can beat Oklahoma and Iowa they should win every other game
With that said they did lose to ULL last year
So basically, they have a decent chance at getting there, but if they do they are getting f***ing mud-stomped.

Does Iowa State really recruit enough elite horses to get there? Seems like a super long shot.
In the SEC, absolutely not. In the Big12, yes.

I've gone on record numerous times that Ohio State did not have the SOS with their 5 game schedule to be in the playoff.
Performance aside (maybe Dabo should keep his frickin mouth shut), that was some bullshite.
1. Cancel season to placate politicians and Covidians even though the data doesn't back it up
2. Later reverse decision once SEC and other conferences embarrass you publicly by playing
3. Play an even SHORTER season than everyone else, rely on preseason rankings to make playoff anyway
4. Amend own conference bylaws MID-SEASON to make sure they play in the Big 10 title game
I don't care that they beat Clemson, they shouldn't have been let in playing 5 games. Ridiculous. And they would have nobody to blame but their own Commissioner.

You weren’t saying that when you were in the Big 12

The Big XII that A&M competed in was completely different. Before the sips destroyed the conference in their greed and arrogance
Nebraska, A&M, CU, MU were all part of that league once upon a time

Coaching matters. A&M has never had a coach quite like Fisher. JS did great things at A&M, but the sips and their sycophants certainly took care of that ...

I was actually hoping Auburn would have went after Campbell.

Past is fricking prologue. Has no effect on this year’s squad or any squad that will ever be. Look forward to seeing you on the field.
The more and more the distant past is brought up, the more confident I am that Fischer is doing his job. It’s actually a pretty common defense anytime a program steps it up in a manner that suggests the dynamic has changed. And it’s right on schedule.

That's the problem with you aggys, you get all emotional about everything. It does not matter what you think their schedule looks like, the truth is, their schedule is the 6th toughest in the nation. FACT
EDIT: Texas A&M ranks behind every Big 12 team as well as most of the SEC in SOS

I agree their schedule is pretty tough this year. As one of the few sane (relatively) whorn posters, I’m wondering what your prediction is?

Campbell wants to coach up North. Expect him to be the next coach at Michigan

I think they beat everyone in the Big 12 minus Oklahoma and play them again in the Big 12 CCG. Playoffs? Most likely not, unless some wild shite happens

Good. After our last 4-5 years, we are about due for a year like this. You wanna do an SOS comparison every year for the last decade??

Honestly, out of all the SEC schools, he’d probably fit at Auburn the best. I think he’s a really good coach, but a little strange personality wise, at times.

With Iowa State? No, not really wanting to do that much research into it. Aggys probably have a few strong SOS in the past, but we are talking 2021.

A&M isn't making it until Jimbo Fisher relinquishes control of their crappy antiquated pro-style offense to a new OC and no way Florida makes it in 2021 because they lost too much talent at the end of 2020 and I highly doubt their defense will be much better than last season. As Florida need to get rid of their DC and hire a new one. Not to mention that their offense will be down somewhat in 2021 as well.
Nonetheless, I don't see any of those 8 teams coming close to making the CFP in 2021.
