After guys get in college really need to forget about the fricking stars.
We had a 3 star slot performing his arse off with a 5 star prima donna who couldn't carry his jock.

The stats are goofy. We got a 4* from Bama and the next day, he a 3*....

For the ones of us who recruit at a top ten level, I think that's true.
For those that don't, there are kids who don't play as much for the top ten recruiting schools that could definitely improve the other schools.

Winning in the SEC requires 3 things...Talent, Depth and development of players regardless of how many stars they have beside their names in high school. Filling in losses to the portal with key positions is now a fourth component to that BUT it is not close in importance to getting the most out of whoever you have on your roster. Going from a 5 star wide receiver who performs as expected to a 3 star that is developed into more than anyone saw coming is not a huge step down.

This list doesnt make sense for SC...but then again I guess a few of our 4 stars just ended up being duds

I want to most 4 or 5 stars who have been in the program 2-3 years without making an impact.
This metric means little.
Bama "lost" a few former national top 100 recruits to TCU last offseason. Problem for TCU is they all sucked and had not made a dent in depth chart at Bama. None did anything at TCU either.
So there are good losses of top recruits (Tommy Brockemeyer, Agiye Hall) and bad losses of former top recruits (Isaiah Bond).
Unless it's someone who is a good QB stuck behind an elite QB or only one year out of high school, be very wary of tranfers whose only claim to fame is how many stars they had two or three years ago.

Yes, and sometimes a no star D-II walk-on can lead the SEC in rushing by 300+ yards.

Op need to update A&M. A 4 star returning from portal and picked up a 5 star transfer.
