You can take the player out of the ghetto but you can't take the ghetto out of the player.

When al.com ran their story on the AU felony four, did they use mug shot photos (like they do with every other arrest) or did they use more flattering pics?

LOL

No it won't. All it will do is let us sign more players this next recruiting cycle

Obviously ya'll will be fine...wasn't saying it was going to ruin the program or anything.

Saban has lost control of the UAPD.

Or he now uses it to process players.

I'm guessing they used similar photos to what you've posted.

According to the department, two UA students reported that they were robbed by two men on campus.

Both said that they were approached by the men who asked to borrow a cigarette lighter, before striking them in the head, stealing their belongings and leaving in a dark-colored SUV, according to the UAPD.

The first victim said that the robbery took place at 12:35 a.m. in the 800 block of Campus Drive. The second student was robbed at 1:20 a.m. in the 200 block of Seventh Avenue.

Both students told police that one robber had a dark complexion, a slim build and was around 6 feet to six feet, two inches tall. He was wearing a black wind suit and a red, beanie-style hat and possibly had dreadlocks. The second suspect had a medium to dark complexion, a stocky build, was of average height and wore blue jeans and a rain coat.

UAPD did not list their names, but said that arrests had been made in the cases on Monday.

“University Police Department investigators were able to develop information leading to the identification of suspects in the robberies described below,” the department’s chief wrote in a campus alert to students. “Three suspects were arrested on Feb. 11, 2013 for two counts of second degree robbery each, with a fourth suspect arrested for fraudulent use of a credit/ debit card relating to the case.”

This is what I'm thinking. The Birmingham News just recently went through a whole lot of staff cuts and the Tuscaloosa News is pretty much in bed with the football program. Kevin Scarbinsky, had he known about the Sunday arrest, would have been all over it.

Here is how this story broke. It's a new day. You are correct about how far behind newspapers and even AL.com is behind and about the small staffs. I don't think it's so much covering up as it is not gathering the information available.

I don't see why everyone is so surprised:

After all, Saban has 4 BCS Championships, 5 recruiting national championships, and 5 SEC Championships. He's been national and conference coach of the year multiple times. He's even coached a Heisman Trophy winner. No one would argue that he hasn't been a huge success on the collegiate level.

The one thing that still eats at him though, is that dreaded 2009 off-season, when he failed to defend his 2008 Fulmer Cup. Hell, Georgia, Auburn, and Arkansas have all won it since his last one. The guy is just a driven individual. DWI.
