Give Calzada credit!!

He stood in the pocket even when the pocket was getting smaller and smaller and threw some great passes! That’s the thing that stood out to me this game! Yes he had happy feet at times but compared to the other games, he looked like a seasoned QB that stayed in the pocket

100% - Calzada played like Tom freaking Brady on 1st and 2nd down..

but 3rd & Calzone is still a problem.. but it is up to the defense to force him into 3rd & long plays.. and Alabama didn’t do that.

It also made a huge difference that A&M got up early.. if they get behind and Calzada is forced into throwing downs.. he has not been good.

But yes, Calzada definitely played the game of his career so far..

This is great analysis. It’s only 3 horrible plays. Anomalies, because your defense is otherwise stout?

FYI - bad tackling is bad defense. Bad coverage is bad defense. But the conclusion is: OU just made plays, Caleb Williams is good.

So instead of all that, you could just say Calzada made the plays.

You should probably go brainstorm on Surlyhorns. And figure out how you blew a 21 point lead to a freshman QB. Instead of worrying about Calzada

On the 3rd and 10 in the 2nd half our All-American TE dripped a perfect pass that hit him in the hands. And in the 3rd and 8 that went for 5 yards the WR fell down with grass in front of him. Both of those were on the WRs, not Calzada.

Also, jimbos offense is designed for 3rd and 5 or less. We have always struggled with 3rd and more than 5 under Jimbo.
