The funny thing about Chase was that he waited until fall practice was already underway to opt out.

He saw how shitey LSU was going to be and then bailed lol.

And Devonta Smith has probably surpassed him by coming back for his senior and NOT quitting on his teammates.

quote:

30 million dollars is the average total contract of an average top 5 pick. The average for a pick in the late first round is about 10 million dollars. For my non math wizards out there, that’s a 20 million dollar difference

20 MILLION Dollars, which is around 10 times more than the average American earns in a LIFETIME

Every single one of you that have called JaMarr Chase a variety of things for not playing this season are ridiculous. There is no reason in the world for him to take the risk of losing 20 million dollars on a season like this.

The whole world went into panic, no spring practice so greater risk of injury, there would be no fans, and before the season started many thought it would be cancelled, and did I mention he stood to lose 20 Million dollars? He had his family and loved ones to think about, and he made the decision he needed to make.

Downvote me to hell, I don’t care. I’ve been part of plenty of teams. Part of being a team is being happy for your brothers if they get opportunities. Chase made the only financially secure decision for his future

You could’ve just said that you’re gonna be big mad when DeVonta goes in the top 5 and Chase gets picked up at #17.

$20 million is a lot of money. Of course if you spend $20 million in 4-5 years, are then broke, and have no job skills at all.... you going to be a broke motherfricker.

Stay and get your degree. There is a reason there are thousands and thousands of pro athletes in all sports that made millions and millions of dollars are never seen or heard from again once they are done playing.

But...is he also going to "opt out" his last year of that initial contract to save himself for that bigger veteran contact...sorry, shouldn't have called it "opt out" but "business decision" instead. If im a GM/Owner...i would wonder if im going to get only 3 yrs of production on that 4 yr contract
