How is Arch Manning getting NIL money if he hasn’t signed?
Because he isn't.
It's a bullshite list most likely based on what they are projected to get, rather than what they have actually signed for already. Like a value grade from some service.
OP is kind of dumb.

Where does it say a kid needs to already be signed? You just can’t recruit with it. Some sports equipment company can start writing checks to Arch if they don’t give a shite if he decides to renege of his UT commitment.
NIL deals can not start until they are on campus, and they also must end when they leave school(although obviously another contract could be signed after).
In a couple of states highschool kids are allowed to get NIL. Those deals would also have to end before coming on campus, but the can obviously be renewed at that point as well.
Manning is not in a state that allows HS deals, so the list is obviously bullshite. Even if he could get HS deals, it would be claiming he was going to get 3.4 million before getting on campus.

I'm not read in on all the nuances of each state, but if this is true, it's bullshite.
NIL should not be tied in any manner to matriculation into school. It's a personal endorsement. If they sign contracts at 16 or 36, what should it matter?

Not a big deal, they can just resign them again after etc.

Certain state laws requires student-athletes to gain approval from their respective schools, others don’t. Select states prohibit players from signing deals until they arrive in college. There are states that mandate any deals have to be fair market value, while others don’t. Select states won’t allow athletes to benefit from NIL before arriving on his or her college campus. In Georgia, for instance, the law allows schools to take up to 75 percent of NIL profits and pool them together for all student athletes and pay it out after graduation.

HS deals in states not allowing them can be held in a type of escrow status until they reach on-campus, I've been told. Manning's total hasn't been received by him, but is the total amount of deals made since his commitment to UTX.

So wouldn’t that then be an illegal inducement in Texas if it were true that he is being told how much he will make through NIL as a Texas commit?

In typical JetDawg fashion, nothing in the OP is true or accurate.
It's on3's guess/estimate of how much each recruit is worth (for NIL purposes) based off their social media followers and interactions.

Not enough whites on that list. We need more inclusion and acceptance with this NIL thing.

So where did you get that the NIL value was based on his negotiated with his commitment to UT as part of the deal? The kid is marketable for any company wherever he goes. I have a feeling that a lot of his NIL deals are with people that could give a rats arse whether he goes to UT, Alabama, Georgia, Oregon or wherever. As long as the kid is on TV every weekend, he would get NIL deals.

DawgNation has an article on NIL this morning. They mention a website, openendorse.com -- Openendorse.com -- which uses social media to connect brand clients with customers and athletes with fans.
Supposedly, 14 states allow HS athletes to receive NIL, but with many stipulations, restrictions, etc.
For California....“The current regulations permit a student-athlete to be compensated for their NIL, so long as there is no recognition of the student-athletes school, school logos, uniforms or insignias. Further information from the administration pointed to Bylaw 212 which reads a student-athlete shall become ineligible if they are, “wearing a school team uniform or any identifying school insignia while appearing in any advertisement, promotional activity or endorsement for any commercial product or service” or “lending his/her name and team affiliation for purposes of commercial endorsement”.
It's all confusing and imo, a mess. The sport is gone, imo.

#1 -- Bronny James, a high school basketball player at Sierra Canyon H.S. in Los Angeles, son of pro player, LeBron James......$6.4 million so far.
#2 -- Arch Manning, H.S. QB.....$3.4 million so far.
Imagine if they actually had elite skill too..

Shareef O'Neal,
Interesting what a good last name will help you get. The rich get richer.
Now I am not saying these kids don't deserve good NIL money, but Arch as the highest football player, and Bronny as the highest basketball player is a bit much. Heck Shareef at 3 is too high.
but companies want return.
