Does the rotating groups HAVE to be played in consecutive years...or could there be an odd year/even year format that works?

Hoping it’s back to back…I think that will create more intensity

But changing each year has you seeing everybody in 2 years (fulll H/A in 4).

I think it will wind up being a 3 3 3 system.

3 permanent

3 year one opponents

3 year two opponents

Where the year two rotate off the year ones become year twos and 3 new year ones roll on. This way your schedule has consistency while still being different each year. Just my two cents.

You want to play everyone in 2 years. A lot of great players only have a 2 year window as impact players, so if you play the rotating teams back to back years, you might miss seeing some great talent by luck of the draw.

Sort of like the 5-1-2 format the SEC used to have...where you had 2 rotating in that R1 was H/R2 was A...then the next year R2 was H/R3 was A...etc.?
