How is Georgia ahead of us?? Besides the last two in a weak part of the SEC they haven't won since the 80's. Texas has better recruiting grounds, more money, MUCH more resources than Gerogia. Stupid list.

Texas has more money, but I'd say the recruiting grounds are a push. The state of Georgia has a ton of phenomenal athletes. And they're in closer proximity to Florida, another very rich field.

As for other factors, Georgia has ENOUGH money and resources, and I get the sense that their boosters are easier to deal with than those at Texas.

*resources and money are like letter grades in a class. If the scale is 94-100 for an A, you get an A, whether it be 94, 97, or 100.
In the SEC, the following are A schools: LSU, Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Tennessee. Texas might have MORE, but those schools have enough to win. This is probably going to be a shock to Texas folks, who are used to being a tier above everyone else. It won't be the same in the SEC.

Texas isn’t gonna be top dog in the SEC. It’s gonna take them a while to realize that. They can wave around their oil money all they want. There is no shortage of money at Georgia or Bama.

Texas has all of that stuff that is 'better' than UGA, and uh they're still one of the most overhyped, underachieving programs in the country with nothing to show for it. Maybe those facts speak for themselves. It sends out red-flags to wood-be coaches that there is deep-seeded problems with the program and things fundamentally wrong that keeps them trapped in a state of mediocrity.

The money at Texas is almost as big of a problem as it is an advantage. Their boosters are a chore to deal with and inhibit their program’s ability to win.

Texas is a bigger state with more resources yes. But Georgia has 80% of the D1 talent of Texas with 1/3 the population. Georgia also has a stunningly large corporate base. Georgia does not share loyalty in the state and GT does not take football seriously. We are a top 4 representative in the NFL with with no in state competition. Texas has A&M, TCU, Baylor, Houston, TTech, and SMU. They are also the almost exclusive recruiting ground for Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. Maybe most importantly we have a lot of well healed boosters who don’t have commensurate egos. We have a history of being overly forgiving of coaches and have kept several past their expiration date. And that has prob cost us 3-4 NC’s the last 50 years. But it has made it a very very attractive job because it’s only beginning to function as has been possible for long time.

Nick Saban said it’s the best job. And he supposedly evaluated the Texas job and chose to remain at Alabama. You can take it up with him as to why UGA and AL are better jobs in his opinion.
