Anyone out there remember that game? LSU had just completed arguably the greatest regular season in CFB history. They only had to win one more game, against a team they had already beaten that didn’t even win their own division in conference play, in a stadium in their own home state, and they would have gone down as possibly the best team of all time.
But... they didn’t.
They got made to look like fools and shams in front of the entire country. That one game took their program from cream of the crop to punchline. And the team that beat them in the title game? LSU has not beaten them since. Shame! Shame!

Never has 1 loss done more damage to a football team than 21-0 did to LSU. Never! Hell, Spurrier beat the mud out of FSU in ‘96 to win the ‘ship, and 3 years later FSU was back in The Sugar Bowl and won it all, wire to wire no less!

Game of the Century in Bryant-Jenny Stadium with Saban's best pure defense ever and they lost.
21-0 was more like a neutral site with all them Bama fans there. LSU had the tougher task.

It's not supposed to "hurt", but I laugh when Bama morons usually respond by saying their field kicker missed a million field goals (which were all prayers) and they should have won even though LSU just made plays at the end and Bama didn't . Some still get pissy about 9-6 even with 21-0. You're obviously not as bad as those morons. But anyway, 9-6.
