Pretty good tournament going on here. No one has really shot themselves out of making the cut.

Yup, this can flip on a dime. Pin placement and other factors.

Pretty much a wrap for day 1. AU faltered down the stretch, but still solid. OU with a great 1st round today lead 6 SEC teams in the top 15.

You can’t win on in day one, but you can lose it. I feel good about my Sooners; we bought us some wiggle room to help us make the top 8.

OU has been a top golf team in last 10 years. This season it looks like we waited to get hot the last few months lol. its just another sport we are good at .

2nd round tee times are posted. Looks like same team groupings as yesterday. AU/Ole Miss/Okie Lite going out first with OU/UT/ASU next.

Can someone explain the format to me a little better? Why is Auburn at home but everyone else (but FSU?) is away?

Once it gets to 15 teams is the round to get to 8 at the final location?

The website is a little confusing about that. Feels like an odd format. Courses aren't apples to apples so it seems odd that the round of 30 is scattered so much?

Edit: Think I was taking crazy pills this morning and it's all at that one course lol.... Whoops

You were looking at the regionals, which were last week. The top 5 teams from each regional make it to the national tournament in Carlsbad, CA. It can be confusing the way all the info is lumped together on the NCAA website.

I think between me and BDG we can keep this on the first page, but a sticky would be nice...

I think with the top teams teeing off early there will be a lot more people in the red today.

I would like a sticky, but they prefer the stickied threads (at the top) on the rant to only be for a day, whereas this is a 5 or 6 day tournament. I am sure there is a technical reason that is over my low tech head.

Agreed. Plus everyone has seen the course now. (Not sure if they got to play a practice round). AU, OU, ASU are all in the red early.

Ole Miss is 4 under already today, pretty much filling in the hole they dug yesterday.

Yeah it usually helps with the winds being up in the afternoon and the greens drying out and getting slicker, and scuffed up from pitch marks, since they don't wear spikes any longer it isn't as bad.

Ole Miss and AU feeding off each other's energy. Both on fire at (=5) early in the round.
