Ole Miss out to an early lead, going 1st and 2nd in the men's hammer, and 1st and 3rd in the women's hammer.
Not just 1st and 2nd in men’s, they also got 4th and 8th for a total of 23 of their 24 points. Hope they’ve got some other strong events, because that lead ain’t holding up otherwise.

Great book. It’s a slow read at first but it really picks up! It really nails the life of a college distance runner, IMO
Have you read the sequel and prequel he finally wrote?
Again to Carthage and Raicing the Rain

I have Again to Carthage but I wasn’t aware of the prequel.

I’ll have to check it out. I always wondered what happened to Parker.

It’s pretty good too. Set in Quentin’s HS days where he makes the transition from basketball to running. Lots of Florida history too.

For my fellow track geeks, especially the distance guys, I assume you’ve read Once A Runner by John L. Parker. It’s a fictional but basically autobiographical novel about the Florida Gator track program in the 60s, portrayed in the book as Southeastern University.
I'm old enough to remember those guys that were in the Florida Track club in the early '70s. Such a cool singlet with the orange on it. As far as distance runners go those guys were as good as anybody in the country as a group.

In the 80's while in school I worked at athletic attic, which was the running shoe store Jimmy Carnes and Marty Liquori started with used UF running shoes. I believe Carnes started the Florida Track Club.

Speaking of milers, check out this little freshman phenom that is running for UF. He is from India and his name is Parvej Khan. He has a lot of personality.

Yep, Athletic Attic started right there in Gainesville.
Thanks for posting the pic of Shorter in the FTC singlet.
Ought to be a good meet. Looking to see what Valby can do besides wreck everybody else in the race.

Good luck to all the athletes!
As a pokey lollygagger myself, my respect for people who can run fast is particularly immense.

Congrats to Ark a very well rounded team.
Nice to see several olympic standards met
Interesting to see the Bama Kiprop and the Ark Kiprop
I'm the 10000 and they aren't related. I didn't see the c trace but saw the splits
Valby Parker just dominated the women's 5000
The UGA 400 champ... The bottom half getting it done, so you didn't mess with that upper half but it's not text book... But .. Winning is in the record books and that's the book that counts.
