Hey LSU,

Yea strict pitch count for both pitchers would be my guess.
I don't know, Skenes can go 100 easily and he'll have 8 days of rest.

Smith likely won't go past 80 pitches

Can he? Sure. Should he?

Smiths pitch count goes up rather fast most of the time. Hope we can get 5 out of him at an 80 pitch count

I think both pitch under 80 pitches

He was literally a shut down closer all year last year as a freshman, almost unhittable late in the season and carried us to the CWS final four last year.

Everybody keeps talking about pitch count. But why is everyone ignoring the elephant in the room? Which team wants to lose the most?

DVH said in the pregame radio show Hagen will be on a limit of about 70 pitches. Which is probably about 4 IP for him

An arm like Skenes has also has a lifespan. No real point in having him go 100+ just for the fun of it.
Oh is this the part where we pretend flamethrowers with violent break don't fizzle out faster than any other type of pitcher?

By that token, why not give him the last few weeks of the season off?
How do you pick which games matter and which don't?

Hagen Smith looks confused. It seems like he is trying to win. Luckily for him his defense is bailing him out.
