I have been saying they will win the East. They go 10-2, IMO

Nobody said we'd win the SEC, just the East and cruise through a very easy schedule

The east is a two team conference this year - South Carolina and Georgia. USC has a tougher schedule - that leaves Georgia in the catbird seat if they can beat Boise State and Miss State.

eta - Georgia can lose to South Carolina and still win the east.

We'll just have to disagree. I don't see how anyone can start declaring teams are out of the East race in June. Florida still has the best talent in the East and I'm VERY interested to see what Dooley does this season.

I'm not near as certain about the Boise game as you are either. Boise has a QB and DL at least equal to Georgia's and they certainly have more experience in winning these types of games.

Ya, it's possible UGA could go 11-1. More likely they go 8-4.

Agreed. I'm curious to see how Brantley and the rest of the O responds to the new coaching/scheme.

If he improves we could have a decent season.

Since that's such a long drought. How many losing seasons has Tennessee had the last 10 years?

I also don't understand why all my fellow dawgs are discounting Miss State. I know we are at home but they did beat us last year. That game really scares me along with the other obvious 4.

Ga can go 8-4 up to 10-2 but they have not lived up to anything in years and i say 8-4 maybe 9-3 if they get lucky...

Last year was Murray's 4th game ever, our defense's 4th game under a brand new system, it was away from home and it was still only a 4 point game with 5 minutes to play.

We should be significantly better this year, they lost their very good DC and will be breaking in someone new, and it's in Athens. We will beat MSU.

Exactly what I was looking for. I don't know much about MSU and wanted a little explanation other than "they're Miss State" because that doesn't fly with me anymore.

I really think the fact that its the defense's 2nd year with the system and Murray's 2nd thats going to be the clincher. Every single game last year, it was a one possession game in the 4th quarter. Even with it being their first year in the system they still put up better numbers than the last 2 years. Bobo and Richt admitted they kept Murray handcuffed until they were sure he could handle it in the beginning. I really think they are going to surprise some people this year. Just my gut feeling...

Exactly, unlike 08 or 09 we never got our doors blown off. And that was with a freshman QB and a new defense. I think our defense is going to really carry us this year.

I agree. I cant wait to see Ogletree at MLB. He may break someone in half. Add in Geathers and Jenkins being true NT in a 3-4. It could be fun to watch

Definitely. Our DL and LB play should be outstanding. If Rambo plays like he should and Williams or someone will step up at the other safety spot, we could be REALLY good on defense this year. I have no worries whatsoever about 9.5 of the 11 positions.

I'm worried about the open safety spot and the .5 is Rambo. Everything else I'm gravy with. Boykin and Commings should be lockdown.

My biggest concern is depth...O-line and LB depth make me very nervous. With Richt's job on the line let's not have any more injuries, or worse yet, arrests

Hamilton

If he's playing then something has gone wrong. There was talk of moving him to corner but I think at the moment he's still a safety. I'd much rather see Shawn Williams in the game than Hamilton.
