Who would win this match up and why?

Which season would you rather have undefeated sugarbowl champions or 1 loss National champions.

I think 2003 LSU would win personally, but I would rather go undefeated than have a loss and a token trophy.

I guarantee you that everyone is going to pick a one loss NC season because that is the corret answer. I think it would be a close game between the two though, and I dont really see any reasons to pick one over the other.

2003 LSU. Superior offense and a better defense.

Really you would pick a loss over a perfect season just because of a trophy.

It may be the corret answer, but it's not quite the correct answer

2004 AU: 4-1st rounders and if Tuberville wasn't so damn conservative, we would have blown out 70% of our schedule

So LSU 2001 team is more impressive than Bama's 08 team because LSU won the SECG, but lost plenty of other games. Bama went 12-0 then lost in ATL, but because LSU won the hardware they had a better season?

So just because Auburn had 4 1st rounders that automatically makes them the better team? If all things were equal, would you take 2004 Auburn over a team like 1995 Nebraska? They didn't have four 1st rounders but they sure as hell could kick any team's arse.

W-L wise there isn't that much difference between 12-2 and 10-3. And yes, they had the better season because they actually won something. What did 2008 Alabama win besides 12 games?

Alabama has the most undefeated untied season of all-time so I figured the gumps would value a perfect season more than some split championship.

Championships separate good seasons from great seasons.

Tell me, how does that self-given, zero loss trophy compare in a trophy case to a crystal football?

A perfect regular season doesn't mean as much as winning championships.

No, but it helps when your entire backfield goes in the first round.

No. But I'd take 2004 AU over 2003 LSU.
