Greg Robinson wasn't starting by the end of the year, although he really should have been. AJ Greene and John Sullen were utterly pathetic in any blocking scheme and only started because they were seniors.

I think having Gus beat him again next year will serve the same purpose.

Dumbass, AU was moving people around by the end of the year trying to find a combination. Only idiots go by the lineup in a program.
Okay looks like I'm going to have to literally show you tape of the starting lineups from the game you taint biscuit.
I literally cannot make it any simpler for you.
10:39 in the full game tape.

Look at the board. Gus is in the Arky fans, Bama fans, Saban, and Bret's heads. All Auburn fans are doing is making fun of how big of a baby Saban and Bret are being about the HUNH.
I think I will go with this... Pussies!!!

Yeah but you don't beat teams by making new rules to favor you. You find a new strategy to beat it on the field. And it can be done. It just takes more work than throwing a bunch of 5* on the field and saying make a play
He is doing both campaigning and preparing.
Part of preparing is recruiting. Thanks to AU for giving us a fast twitch guy like Rashaan Evans. I hope AU keeps pitching the Star position to linebackers who have first round potential, so they will keep choosing Bama.
If you look at the weaknesses of our team this year, they were addressed by recruiting. We got two potential shut down corners (I still have nightmares of Cyrus Jones being left on an island.) which are key to Saban's defense being successful. We also have several dline that can collapse the pocket and play the run.
See, it is entirely possible for Saban to campaign against the HUNH while also preparing for the inevitable, which is that the rule won't pass. It's great that his campaigning has got into your head. Why wasn't Gus at the meeting? Where was Sumlin? Freeze? I am sure that they would have been afforded an opportunity to speak if they showed up.

I am sure he did. He has been trying to use LSU's gameplan. He started running more 4 man fronts. He has even stated that he may end up going to the HUNH. It not in my head. It just filled up Rant and is the only thing being talked about right now. Plus who could pass up a chance to make fun of the supposed to be GOAT defensive coach begging for rule changes because of a offense he can't figure out.
quote:Probably didn't go because they know there isn't much they could have went and said to make a difference. They are not worried that it will pass. While the ones that feel they need to do something extra to get it passed will go.

Your two best defenders (Mosley and Collins) looked foolish on many of those plays. Are your new recruits better than those two ?

Point being is that to defend Gus's gameplan that relies primarily on run plays it is important to trust your corners on an island so you can dedicate your safeties to stopping the run and playing the middle. We saw what happened when our corners were on islands. Two touchdown passes because of poor cornerback play (and good offense play, but I'm focusing on what could be different if we had better corners last year). (dang it, Cyrus Jones).
While we won't have a linebacker as good as Mosley, we have decent replacements for him. Once again, not as good as him, but not terrible either. Having two great cornerbacks and an above average linebacker is better than having one great linebacker with two terrible corners.

I'm under the impression that you expect Tony Brown and Marlon Humphrey to be "great" as soon as they walk on Alabama's campus... These two haven't even seen the practice field yet.

No, I'm expecting Eddie Jackson, who took some licks this year to develop into a great corner. He showed a lot of potential this year shutting down receivers in the OM game, but got burned some as well. Dee Milliner was awful as a freshman. He developed into a great corner. I am also expecting that one out of Cyrus Jones, Mo Smith, Tony Brown, Marlon Humphrey, Anthony Averett, will be developed enough to be a big contributor by the time November comes.

These are the same corners that everyone was singing their praise two weeks earlier. We kept hearing how great the true Freshman was and how Collins was such an upgrade at Safety over Vinny S. We hear it every year, how the new guys are so much better, but when they play a team that can expose their real play, we see what happens. The SEC has had very few QBs that can challenge average corner over the last two years. Alabama played two of them in Murray and JFF, and we saw what happened in those games. This year Marshall did not pass very well against them, I look for that to change this year.

Yeah, that explains you starting the Saban thread. Nice try.

I am telling you who got most of the snaps at the end of the year. Who stated ment nothing for that OL, because they were so bad.
