You know, after seeing that play, i think that we should have bootlegged to the right, but then had Micheal Williams peel off into the left corner of the end zone for an assumedly easy pitch and catch.

First off, Chick-Fil-A Bowl win? Over Virginia? My apologizes. That Daniel Moore painting must hanging proudly in your office.
Remove the variable (Cam, side of Fairly) and it was a mirage. Go look at your own board--even your own fanbase understands that having Newton was the textbook definition of the term, "Lightning in a Bottle." They left, and, boom goes the dynamite.
Even with a perfect, 14-0 season, you're average wins over that span was...... a little over 8 wins.
8 wins. With a perfect season mixed in. Congratulations.

Good post. Not knocking it. Thanks for the kind words. Here are a few points:
1. Texas A&M, College Station is the Flagship of the Texas A&M University System. Thus, Flagship.
2. Nobody is assuming A&M will compete like last year, but the evidence tends to point that way, especially given our schedule.
3. Swope was not the best receiver last year. A RS Freshman was.
4. A&M was a surprise the first few games. After that, nobody should have been surprised by anything. What scheming is Sumlin doing right now?
5. The difference between Arkansas and Texas A&M is the State of Texas. In A&M's worst years, we still landed top 25 talent.

Also, what is wrong with hedging your bet? I'm not placing bets, just analyzing.
Problem with hedging as much as you did is that the whole post comes across as "Texas A&M could be awesome or they could suck, just like most teams, which will it be? Say tuned!" That is an decidedly meh take and a meh post.

So, what your saying is, if I gave you five solo cups of Lemon-Lime Gatorade, with the exact same amount of fluid in them, but one of them contained Cyanide, and you dropped dead soon after... we couldn't point to the 'variable'?

Ummmm, no.

I think if Coach Sumlin stays 5-8 years they will be as legitimate an ATL threat as anyone. The competition being so close (usually 5 or 6 teams very good every year) that's about as far as I'll go.

How is this relevent to your thread about A&M mabye sucking and maybe not sucking?
Stay on topic...your the OP, should be easy.

quote:great post overall but this is false. Texas is the flagship of the UT system and we are the flagship of the A&M system.
First, as I'm sure all of you are painfully aware of, Texas A&M is not the flagship school in the state

I think most here are missing the point, which, if you look in the title is AN EVALUATION.
I looked at the good, looked at the bad, pointed out the variables on what might swing positive or negative for the Aggies going forward, and then gave a brief conclusion on what I thought would be their outlook in the future.
I assume that because I didn't come with a 100% one way or the other opinion stuffed with emoticons, gif's, and flames, that it doesn't suffice for the readers on this board? Gimmie a break.
And for those with something stuck in your 'craw' about the whole flagship title, I wasn't speaking of the actual term for the vast number of University systems in your big state, just the relaxed perception of the "most recognized" University in Texas. Shocker, its Texas.

Yea honestly I didn't read it. Sorry but you could have made the same point in less words. No one wants to click a thread to read six paragraphs. Especially when you don't really take a definite side. (Basing off some posters response)

1) Evaluations don't necessarily take sides--they make points.
2) There wasn't one paragraph longer than 3 lines in the whole post. It could take the average 5th grader a few minutes to read and comprehend. The whole notion of "Too Long, Didn't Read" and culture of "140 characters or less" type thinking is absolutely, retarded.
If you didn't read it all, fine. I understand. But what is the point of responding when you didn't read the entire topic of conversation, which, if it meant enough to respond, would take barely a few minutes?
