I'm cool with it. That team was legit. Yet another school that has a more recent title than UGA

Yet, UGA is years ahead of LSU. Keep living in the past and taking those arse beatings by Bama. It’s 2018, let the big boys talk football. LSU is now the 3rd or 4th best team in their division, while UGA continues to ascend. LSU fans would kill their own mother to be UGA right now

Was it really a rivalry?

Tulane students let mike out of his cage, free to roam campus.

That isnt quite on the level as killing trees, but it is up there.

I only claim national titles in seasons where Alabama defeated LSU.

Perhaps your link is the story Tulane came up with to save face when they didn't get the invite?

Some schools have chosen academics over athletics and clearly Tulane is one of them. Vanderbilt is another, but the most glaring example is Chicago - home of Alonzo Stagg and the "original" logo da Bears now use. Chicago was the Ohio State of their era yet they chose to drop out of the B1G and dropped football to focus on academics. Today they are one of the top academic schools in the US but gave up football to achieve it. While I am not WWI and WWII old I was raised by that generation and I can easily see turning down an invite for schooling.

I know this is hard to believe in this day and age but it was just so much different then in what was proper behavior and what was not. Part was the era but I think a bigger part was the struggle of war and depression made folks treat each other better that would probably not happen today. The folks I grew up with were less concerned on how much money they had and more concerned with family, friends, and the community around them.

but then my money would just go to making them think that it's considered legit.
