It may be marginally close bc of sec home court refs but as long as Auburn doesnt give it away they will win.

Teamrankings gives Bama a 56 percent chance to win. BPI has AU at a 51 percent win chance. Basically, the game projects as a toss up.

I think AU wins if it shoots well from 3 and Bama wins with a decent free throw disparity (i.e. Sexton's ability to draw fouls and get to the line at a high rate).

I see Bama fans aren't cautiously optimistic here...

KEY has played better each game still has a fart brained moment each game but fewer than the last.. he's a matchup problem when at full speed.

SMITH although a FR can really bang and can be a handful under the basket.. have not seen him play bad yet. needs more mins.

PETTY plays better at home because he seems to really feed off crowd support and it's harder on the road because the game planning is just better. He has issues with ball control that will get better, hopefully before the end of the season... we have ridden him a few games. If he gets going early he doesn't usually cool off.

GIDDENS is a foul magnet.. a lot of his fouls are reputation fouls.. he can be a dominant post man if he can stay on the flour. He's actually athletic and big enough to not foul so often.

INGRAM has been balling lately and is beginning to take on a leadership role he's a big combo guard and is doing better getting to the rack and drawing fouls.

REESE has been playing very well hitting big 3s and rebounding pretty well.

HERB JONES is a defensive stud... I expect to see him on any teams best player late in the game.. would like to see hime score more but he's playing his role very well.

JR is solid regardless of how people feel about the "coach's Son" playing his mistakes are over blown and his big shots are undervalued.

SEXTON they are still trying to decide whether to get him scoring early or late.. which is a balancing act because they need to get Petty going early too. Sexton can draw fouls with the best of them but he can also get out of control trying to do too much as if he doesn't have good talent around him.

Bama has struggled with consistency due to youth and injuries but have played pretty well at home... Refs give serious home cooking (except at Bama) But I expect Bama to come out with the victory... I believe Bama to be the more talented team... it remains to be seen if they are the better team. We've played much better as of late and we tend to do better when we take our opponents seriously... being so young, there are times when it seems like the players feel like they can just show up and win. This won't be one of those times.

Avery did say that he spent much more time working on offense than defense in the off and preseason and it shows... Bama fans should enjoy being able to score in the 70s and 80s as opposed to the 50s and 60s we used to score.

Sexton goes off for 50, Tide still loses 52-76.
