I told people last year that talked shite on Mizzou, this expansion is about getting TERRITORY, you want your footprint to be as big as possible. Maryland is basically a "southern" state. I never thought the B1G would go into southern territory for teams. If expansions does happen for the SEC... they'll go towards the state of Oklahoma to expand the footprint.

lsu and ole miss would stay in the same pod. there's better ways to do it but it's all hypothetical right now. First priority is to get two more teams.

eta: I'd like to see an A&M, LSU, Ole Miss, Miss State pod

I think the entire "grind of the SEC schedule" argument loses weight when every team doesn't have to play most of the other teams in a given year.

But I know that's not even the issue here, just thinking out loud.

So what would the schedule be? Everyone in your pod, one other pod, and then one permanent "cross-pod" rival?

Auburn, Clemson, FSU and one more (NC State) are moving to the Big 12. It is all about footprint, you want to be in as many states as possible...

Auburn and Alabama will continue to play (See GT-UGA, FSU-Florida, Clemson-USC), etc...

There will be a major shuffling of the deck.

The other option is the break up of the Big 12 which I now find less likely. Only one of the Big 12 or ACC will survive as a big boy..

My guess is ACC goes back to its roots as a Basketball conference.

one permanent rival in each adjacent pod
one rotating game in each other pod

so 3 pod games + 5 non-pod games with a nice geographical spread

I would rather have Maryland over Mizzou.

Forgot about the pod system. Using my Va Tech/Clemson example it could be:

Arky
Mizzou
A&M
LSU

Bama
Auburn
Ole Miss
Miss State

Va Tech
Clemson
South Carolina
Tennessee

Georgia
Florida
Kentucky
Vanderbilt

Put Tenn in the UGA pod & KY in theScjr pod to even out the have & have nots & this looks good IMO...

It won't make a difference, Bama will still have to play Tenn every year, and it will force more ridiculous scheduling to keep that dumpster fire of a game.

Seriously, at some point you've got to say frick that game. They should've just moved Auburn to East said frick the UT/Bama game and made Aub/Bama perm cross game.

first of all 16 is coming it's only a matter of time ...

So with that being the case I would ideally like to have UVA & UNC ... but as stated before NUC won't leave Duke and UVA is a key ACC charter member and more than likely won't leave either.

So that being the case we will most likely have to settle with NC State & Va Tech I'll be fine with this.

Remember when it comes to adding teams to the SEC only one thing matters ... how much $$$ they can add to the SEC Digital Network. If the schools don't add to our TV rating they won't be invited in ... so this is why Virginia and North Carolina are the natural choices.

Also SEC ADs vote via a commitee on who gets added as well and those schools with potential sec teams in state won't allow because they don't want the cmopetiition ( also it hurts the SEC money pools so Slive ultimately vetos it as well)

USCe / Clemson
Florida / Florida State
Georgia / Georgia Tech
Kentucky / Louisville
Texas A&M / Texas

As I have said it only makes sense and they are our only hopes

VA TECH & NC STATE

Which two should we grab?

I know it doesn't make sense from the TV standpoint, but I want FSU and Clemson.

UNC is probably the ACC's most attractive team from an SEC perspective though.

They had their chance in 90.

So is Maryland > Mizzou? How'd they get the B1G invite that Mizzou wanted?

And the SEC will probably only expand to new states. But 4 pods of 4 in 16 team conference would be better.

Mizzou laughed when the "junior" membership came up and said we'll talk when the big12 dies.

I think the FBS should just have an AFC and NFC.
