1941 National Championship- This is a complete joke. The AP ranked Alabama 20th in the nation with 14 teams with better records in the top 20. Once again it is the Football Thesaurus that retroactively awards it. Alabama finished 3rd in the SEC that year. Mississippi State won the SEC title..yet Bama claims a National title!
Hell yeah, get some of that!!!!

Thank you for changing your favorite team! So far this year, stuff like that has been good for Bama. I'm very superstitious so anything helps!

I know this has nothing to do with this thread and sorry, but since you brought up superstitions I thought I would tell you guys this. Had a party for the Bama/Clemson game and one of my friends brought me some flowers and a Bama balloon. The balloon has a clip on it so I just clipped it on the back of the chair and can you believe that balloon has been there this whole time and it is not coming down. Of course, it has no air in it. Call me crazy, but I just can't take it down. I know I am being silly.

Don't let any Aubies in your house because they'll probably take it down to jinx us!
I've done the same with my superstitions all year long that is different from previous years and I will keep it up until we lose, which I don't plan on losing anytime soon though.

No one is going to touch that...lol. I know it has absolutely nothing to do with anything, but just can't change it while they are winning.

We should have had the first three peat in '66.
Which probably had the best defense in the history of college football.
'66
34-0 La Tech
17-7 Ole Miss
26-0 Clemson
11-10 Tennessee
42-6 Vandy
27-14 Miss State.
21-0 LSU
24-0 South Carolina
31-0 Auburn
Bowl 34-7 Nebraska
10-0-0 (5 shutouts) 5 TDs on the season

That defense was weak. They gave up 44 points. Hell, two teams scored in double digits and MSU had 14 points.
In 1957, AU's D gave up 28 points all year. The most any team scored against them was once - 7pts. That was in the midst of a 30-1-1 run over 4 years from 1956-1959.
I am claiming the '58 title for AU just for fun since we were defending champs and undefeated in '58.

With Christmas coming up, if you have a Bama fan for a relative, get them a copy of "The Missing Ring" by Keith Dunnavant. It's an excellent book about the year Bama was screwed over, and it'll let you read threads like this and chuckle.
About the really old titles, I wouldn't be yapping about Bama's Championships back in the day when helmets were optional.
