It would be a travesty if TX was ranked in front of any 2 loss SEC team after an A&M loss except maybe TN.

With all due respect, I do KNOW how the media and committees treat UTrans. They will be in the playoffs as long as they beat Kentucky. Why is Georgia ranked so much lower than a team they pounded on the road?

Again, with all due respect.

Preseason rankings and past years performances weigh in heavily to voters minds. The preseason rankings have a huge impact on where we stand as teams. Teams don’t lose ranking position without losses such as the 24 Horns. We did make the playoff last year and we had tremendous recruiting classes and the program is improving. Consider how your teams past performance and recruiting play into the preseason rankings. Seriously ATM had an amazing recruiting classes a few years back and it matters in how the AP seeds you in the preseason. Look at this list and consider whether programs really get special treatment. See this evaluation: Preseason rankings in the 2020’s

Here's my question:
The winner of Texas vs. Texas A&M is in the SEC Championship game, correct?

It seems as if the 4th and 5th tie breakers are showing that Bama goes as 2nd team to SEC Championship game, correct?

So if Texas goes to SEC Championship game and wins *OR* loses, they're in, right?
But if Bama goes to SEC Championship game and loses, they're out, right?

This is a first in the sense that there's a team that would PREFER to NOT go to the Championship game as the risk is worse than the potential reward of winning.

We may see play in games a a part of the evolution of the expansion. This may be where we see SEC/BIG presence at the table.

Mizzou staying in is a surprise to me. Seems like a nod of respect to both Mizzou and South Carolina. I like it.

Maybe it's a small sign the committee is willing to use more logic than the polls.

Such as the most basic kind of logic:

You rank Missouri and South Carolina between #20-25.

Missouri loses a very close game on the road to South Carolina.

That actually confirms Missouri is ranked pretty well!!!

You don't have jump a team that beats a 2-8 UAB at home over them just because L=way down and W=way up.

Bama would be in with a loss I think. A&M is who they might screw over to try and get TX in.

I dunno. Then you’d have a 3 loss team in the party. I doubt they wanna set that standard in Year 1 of this new format.

Now, if Texas beat the ever living shite outta bama then I say Bama is out. However, if it’s like a walk off game winning FG or something, just seems like Bama gets FOOKED for playing an extra game.

Ya got frigging ND who doesn’t even play a Conf. Championship game and they’re gonna get in virtually every year. Kinda exposing all the flaws with this format in year 1, already.

This whole “reviewing the rankings every week” is getting old, when it’s basically a popularity contest.

Just feels like the media is trying to butt in on deciding who should be in. Not great when everyone has a different opinion.

If the SEC office hadn't of backed LSU instead of us and took away 17 points we would be all up in that. Only 2 losses to top 12 teams and 4 top 25 wins and 5 if we beat Clemson. Right now we would destroy everyone in conference on a neutral field. Enjoy your picture show you entitled pricks.
