a rivalry in hoops

The other 12 fricking suck and likely will for the foreseeable future.

A rivalry very similar to the Bama-UGA rivalry that has started to grow.

Thing is... I don't think UK will stay down for long. They're already starting to play a lot better.

Yes but they're still Kentucky and basketball is still a tourney sport. In some ways, I wish that regular season wins mattered more in basketball because we've historically been one of the better programs nationally to never make a final four. We just haven't been very lucky in March.

Kentucky knows how to crack the NCAA Tourney code far better than the rest of us combined.

I mean we can quibble over terminology but if we were to meet right now Tennessee would be the likely favorite
ESPN BPI has an Auburn W at 64% and KenPom at 61%

KP has three projected Ls (@NCST, @MSU, @UK) and a projected aggregated conference record of 13-5

For UT, 3 more Ls as well (@UF, @UK, @barn) with, again, a projected conference record of 13-5

I support this thread. We may as well start it now.

None of these SEC nancy’s (Except Kentucky and possibly miss state) seem to have the stones to play with us this year.

Looking forward to a top ten matchup at least twice this year with the vols!

It all boils down to bitter people not wanting deserving outsiders to join the party. Feels a lot like 2004.

If Auburn's as good as you say they are, they'll get a chance to prove it in March

Tennesse won’t be favored in that game unless Auburn implodes.

KenPom predictor says Tennessee -0.5 on a neutral, -4 at TBA, +3.5 @AU

But the game is at the end of the year. Auburn should be starting their slide by then.
