#7 “The Camback”
I apologize. 2010 was a long time ago, so not many Gifs.
The Iron Bowl. #2 Auburn vs #11 Alabama. Heisman favorite Cam Newton led the Tigers against Greg McElroy and the Crimson Tide.
Bama got off to a fast start. Getting up to 24-0 in the first half, it was looking like Auburn could kiss their national championship hopes goodbye.
But Cam Newton had other plans.
Down 27-21 in the 4th quarter, Newton constructed a drive that ended in the go ahead TD pass to Philip Lutzenkirchen.
Alabama had opportunities to take back the lead, but the Auburn defense had other plans.
Auburn held on 28-27 and would go on to win the BCS National Championship.
Scores
Quality of Game: 8.0
What’s at Stake: 8.5
Effect on SECRant: 7.5
Total Score: 8.0

Great game. Breaks my heart to relive it, for more reasons than just football (I lost my grandma, who raised me -- I lived with her growing up, and not with my mom -- a couple days later).

That was the only Iron Bowl I’ve ever attended.
And it was wonderful.

I'd like to go to an LSU game that's not against bama at some point (been to plenty of those). Any suggestions?
