Time to offer Pittman a boatload of money and kick Chaney to the curb

I don't care how much it takes for Pittman to get rid of the package deal, but we aren't going to win with Chaney at OC. Period. The guy's an absolute retard.

Was saying this same thing to my wife during the game. We have a 7 win ceiling with Chaney at OC.
There are literally hundreds of OC's out there who can run this offense better, especially behind Pittman's line.

Can someone elaborate on them being a package deal? I know they coached together at UT, but are they boys?

They're not a "package deal".
I'm thinking Pittman was hired at Tennessee in Dooley's last year (2012) to help with the offense. It worked to some extent but they still managed only one SEC win (Kentucky) and one in 2011 (Vanderbilt). Pittman's a great coach. But if one goes back and reviews the SEC games they lost that year (as well as any year post-Kiffin), a lot can be learned. IMHO, Chaney has trouble with making innovative adjustments in reaction to in-game adjustments made by opposing defenses. That's the reason Tennessee blew a lot of first half and third quarter leads. Some teams like Alabama were prepared from the outset.
FWIW, Joe Tiller ran the offenses at Wyoming and Purdue. Chaney learned a lot from him but usually comes up short when it comes to making innovative in-game adjustments, especially against average to above average SEC defenses.

7 wins? Getting ahead of yourself there baw!
I'm thinking 2 conference win ceiling. Bert may break Houston's conference losing streak.

I meant a 7 win ceiling in general after this year, when we get back to a place where we're comfortable with the depth and talent level on both sides of the ball at all positions.
I'm excited about the fact that our defense is looking really good despite being thin and young in the back 7, but that means nothing if we can't make second half offensive adjustments when teams start stacking the box and stifling our running game. We were right there with Auburn until they made defensive adjustments at halftime and we couldn't answer with some offensive wrinkles designed to take pressure off the running game.
If every game was 30 minutes, we might win the National Championship this year.

We're fricked as long as Chaney is calling plays.

We'd be undefeated with one tie!
