Why isn't Mississippi State ranked?

They have Preston Smith, who many State fans think is the best D-lineman in CFB. They have Dak Prescott, who some say is the best dual-threat QB in the SEC.
They blasted Southern Miss and South Alabama (one of those being a road game, btw).
I mean, Missouri is ranked. Heck, there are nine 1-loss teams in the AP Top 25. Why isn't State getting any love from the voters?

Because the stupid polls use whole numbers and MSU is more of a ½ than a 1.

The voters are setting it up for an unranked team beating a top 10 team. Obviously.
After the bulldog win, they will shoot to #10 in the country, where they clearly belong.
