I honestly believe, without a doubt in my mind, that Arkansas will beat Auburn. Convincingly, I might add. Am I the only one? Should I slow down on the kool-aid?

I'm starting to lean that way. Auburn's players and coaches expect to win just for showing up. They view the game as a formality, and most are circling the K State game instead.

I think it's sane to be optimistic. saying that there is no doubt we will win, and convincingly at that, is some heavy kool-aid dosage.

I've convinced myself that we are a 7-8 win football team this year. I'm a glutton for punishment.

like, they return a lot of players from a team that made it to the national championship and progressively got better throughout the year. we just finished a 3-9 season where we seemed to progressively get worse, especially on defense, minus the LSU game (losing a game in devastating fashion to end the year is somehow the bright spot of the season). a few positive practice reports shouldn't be enough to sway someone to 'no doubt' territory.

We got better as the season progressed.

We were a 6-6 type team last year, three plays away from a bowl game in Bielema's first season. The only real impact player we lost was our center.

If we had Auburn in Fayetteville to start the season, I would pick us to win straight up, but the fact that it's on the road makes it a tossup.

I disagree Wave.. We weren't playing bad ball by the end of the year. Auburn was a few game minutes away from 8-4, possibly 6-6. Hearing Skipper and Kirkland talk has got me pumped to say the least. Not to mention, I just never was all that impressed with Nick Marshall. If our D shows up, I think the our running game is going to lead us to a W.

There is no way we win that game, you guys just need to accept that. We aren't close to where we need to be yet. We are still a year or 2 away

I went back and watched the Auburn and LSU games last year and got a little pumped for this season. After watching the Auburn game I concluded that we shot ourselves in the foot a lot that game but the better tean won without a doubt. We ran the ball well against Auburn and will do so again this year. If BA is on and the receivers are catching the ball then it will be a great game, but also be a close game. The wildcard is the new DC Smith. If he can contain the zone read as well as Willy Robinson, then this game could get interesting. I'm still thinking Auburn wins it but we have the luxury of catching them before the train is rolling and we can certainly pull it out.

Auburn got blown out by Lsu last year for a lot of the same reasons we lost to Auburn. They went on to win the SEC.

Just because we lost to Auburn last season doesn't make it an automatic loss this year. Especially considering what they've lost - Tre Mason, Greg Robinson, Dee Ford, Carl Lawson, Alex Kozan, etc.

We return pretty much all of our impact players from last year. They lost a ton. Plus they can't gameplan for our defense because they've never seen it before.

maybe my memories are skewed by giving up all hope during South Carolina (the seventh game of the season, which we lost by a frickload to 7), but i distinctly remember thinking our defense got worse and the offense was consistently inept throughout the year with a few shining (running based only) moments. i watched every game because i am a fan and a glutton for punishment.

Agreed. We are 21 point dogs. That alone, says our percentage chance to win outright is in the single digits.

To gloat over a loss for your own team?

That's odd.

Not a true fan or he's simply a count. Only two options for someone that wants to come back "after we lose".

I'm not saying I think we even win 8 games this year. I'm saying I think we beat Auburn. I believe they were way over-hyped last year. Take the lucky plays away and whadya got?

Meh, I just don't agree with this, and I don't understand why it's become accepted reality that we got progressively worse last year. We should've won the Rutgers game, were in the A&M game, and fell apart at Florida in the second half. We got curb-stomped by Bama and USC -- who were two really good teams, by the way -- and the came back and gave Auburn a game, and then should've beaten MSU and LSU.

I understand that's a lot of "could've/should've," but I think a lot of people see the consecutive blowout losses to Bama and USC coupled with a 9 game losing skid and just assume we got worse over the course of the year when in actuality were in almost every game we played with the exception of those two.

If LSU doesn't score that fluke touchdown, the offseason conversation and actual analysis of our 2013 season -- instead of simply pointing to our record -- is vastly different.

There's a chance, but I really don't know how you can say you believe it without a doubt
