Why I love the GrindFest

GrindFest isn't in full swing this year so I have come to save the day. I miss what Grindfest used to represent, the soul crushing of Mississippi State fans so I am here to get them riled up.


I come here to the SECr today to talk about my love of Grindfest. While many of my fellow Aubies don't think twice about Grindfest after penciling in a W to start the season, I believe it is underrated and showcases some of the most important values that College Football and SEC football have to offer.


Reasons I love GrindFest

1- It is a reminder to College Football that there are overrated teams every year and ESPN analysts don't know shite

Lately, Mullin has managed to tap his inner Merlin and get people to pick Mississippi State as a dark horse on a yearly basis. Just like when analysts pick teams like Notre Dame, USC, Michigan, Ohio State or Texas at the beginning of every year and they eventually lose, Grindfest is a near guarantee reminder that analysts are full of shite and the dominant teams don't get the love they deserve


2- GrindFest is one of the best warm up games for the SEC schedule

The Grinders may be overrated of late, but that doesn't mean that they don't deserve to get some credit. They play at a higher level than our scout team and so it gives us some good practice heading in to the meat of our schedule

3- It is fun trash talking your 5 year old ginger nephew who doesn't stand a chance

My family has good genes so we don't have gingers, but I do know when my 5 year old cousin challenges me to a game of basketball, he regrets it 5 minutes later when I Mutombo the shite out of him. This is what the Grindfest is for Auburn fans. It is a game where you can talk infinite trash talk knowing for a fact that it will never come back to haunt you

4- Seeing the souls crushed of the Grinders is worth the price of admission

Every year the Grinders think they can take down one of the Big 6. That this is the year that their fake ID will be accepted and they will be allowed into the club. Their name isn't on the list however and will not be for the forseeable future. They are lucky that they get to even wait in line by being permitted to play in the SEC. Every SEC team needs a gimme win and with Ole Miss and Vandy stepping up their game, truth is, we need Miss St to be in the SEC West. Someone has to be a cellar dweller
