This thread is intended to be educational in nature. Most of us are familiar with our own team intimately and only generally familiar with the other guys. If this works, we can do offensive line, defensive line and defensive skill positions as the season approaches.

Auburn

QB - Right now it is a battle of superb athlete who has a cannon for an arm in Nick Marshall and true freshman Jeremy Johnson who is more of the ideal size and pocket passer type QB who can run a little. I expect NM's maturity and experience to win a close race to start. His athleticism, escapability and ability to make big plays with his feet will be important for this team.

RB - Returning starter and 1000 yard rusher Tre Mason will get plenty of touches and be a primary part of Auburn's offense. Newcomer and JUCO transfer Cameron Artis Payne will also get lots of touches and an opportunity to become the feature back. While both Mason and CAP are every down type backs, CAP has more ideal size than Mason, while Mason has experienced success already at RB in the SEC.

Cory Grant and true freshman Jonathan "Rudy" Ford, who has been impressive in fall practice, will likely get carries as the speed back in Gus' offense.

FB/HB - Jay Prosch, among the best in the SEC and country, will play almost every meaningful down in packages using a FB, assuming he stays injury free. CJ Uzomah, exceptional athlete who played QB at times in HS, will back up Prosch at FB and play all over the field at HB, TE and Wide out.

TE - Uzomah and Brandon Fulse will get most snaps at tight end and also be used as receivers in some packages. Both were highly recruited players that have shown small flashes and are expected to take a step forward this season to fill the roll Lutzenkirchen played for AU in the past.

WR - This is a very congested position with a lot of very talented but unproven players fighting for playing time and catches. Quan Bray, talented player out of Georgia and leading returning receiver, seems to be the primary guy right now. Speedster Sammie Coats will get plenty of opportunities, as will Ricardo Louis (who has had a couple of good scrimmages this fall), Jaylon Denson, Trovon Reed, and true freshmen Tony Stevens and Marcus Davis.

QB: Jr. Justin Worley will start the season. 4* true frosh Josh Dobbs or 3* true frosh Riley Ferguson will be starting by season's end imo.

RB: Same as last year. Rajion Neal and Marlin Lane will split carries here. Neal is faster, Lane probably better vision and patience. Neither are elite SEC backs but both are more than serviceable. Neal was on pace for 1K yard season prior to his injury last year. With the same group blocking for them, I'd expect similar results.

TE: This will be an extreme weakness for our team in all likelihood. Earlier in camp a walk-on was running with the 1s here.

WR: MarQuez North, who was the #2 WR in the nation behind Treadwell last year, is expected to start game 1 on the outside. He has been arguably the best player regardless of class so far in fall camp. Pig Howard, a sophomore who played a small role as a true frosh will get the start in the slot.

The other outside receiver could be true frosh Josh Smith, redshirt frosh Jason Croom, or any number of guys. Very crowded list of young guys who are unproven at this position. I think this will be a strength this time next year though.

QB - AJ McCarron. I guess Alec Morris is the backup. Has a huge arm and is kind of fat. Freddie Kitchens 2.0. Then a bunch of freshmen.

RB - Tj Yeldon. Kenyon Drake, Jalston Fowler, Dee Hart, Derrick Henry. Guessing the other freshmen will be redshirted.

WR - Amari Cooper, Christion Jones, Kevin Norwood, and Kenny Bell all have significant experience. Deandrew White is back from injury and showed promise last year before his injury. Robert Foster is the freshman everyone is excited to see. Feel like I'm forgetting a couple. WR is VERY crowded on the roster.

Will give this a go

QB: Starter will be Zach Mettenberger (Senior).

RB: Alfred Blue, Kenny hilliard, and Jeremy Hill

WR: Odell Beckham,Jarvis Landry, and Travin Dural will be main WR's and will be out on the field the most.

FB: Copeland

TE: True Freshman Desean smith is making waves in camp and will get a lot of snaps. Our most Athletic TE in terms of ball skills.

QB- The HBC has two very capable quarterbacks in Connor Shaw and Dylan Thompson. Connor is a good athlete, and is not a bad passer he will be our starter. Dylan is the better passer of the two but is no slouch and is more elusive than he is given credit for and will play this year in some form or fashion.

RB- USC has a very good stable of RBs Mike Davis, Brandon Wilds, and Shon Carson. Not to mention a very talented true freshman David Williams. Mike Davis will be the starter but Brandon Wilds and Shon Carson will play. Brandon Wilds became the starter in 2011 after Lattimore Shon Carson and Kenny Miles went down with injuries.

TE- This is a very good group. IMHO we have the best TEs in the country. Busta Anderson is a big strong player that can block and all he does is catch Touchdowns he is the starter. Busta has 27 receptions for 10 Touchdowns. Then here comes Jerell Adams 6-foot-6 240 lbs can catch and run like a deer. We also have Drew Owens 6-foot-6 250 very athletic fell behind on the depth chart because of an injury last season. Look for the TEs to make a lot of plays this year and our offense using a lot of two tightend sets.

WR- Starters Bruce Ellington, Nick Jones and Shaq Roland or Damiere Byrd. A lot of talent and speed, but Roland has to prove himself as a sophomore and show why he was a 5* product and former Mr. Football winner for the state of SC. Shamier Jeffery is also trying to make a name for himself this year and get from underneath the shadow his big brother cast (Alshon).

IMO this group of WR is a lot like what SOS had when he was at UF.
