Nobody in my family ever really cared about sports but when I was five my grandad took me to the last egg bowl played in Jackson and the Rebs won. Plus I went to JA for high school so you kinda had to choose one. Went to Air Force for college though but carried Colonel Reb with me to Colorado and then to Florida. I was known as that one OM fan that went to the sports bar on Saturday, got obnoxiously drunk and screamed at anyone wearing purple to go to hell. Haha

Haha I think it's hilarious that there are little groups of us that know each other in real life.

I think we are all about two degrees of separation from each other. We all know each other vicariously.

Grew up in Batesville. My whole family went to OM. Always had season tickets to everything. Love OM more than anything, so does my wife and her family, even though her parents went to State( now big OM fans and contributors and Oxonians). Her dad went there just for his engineering degree. Sometimes it hurts my feelings to be so into OM but I can't shake it!

My mother went to OM and my father to OM law school. I grew up in Belhaven and we used to walk to OM games at the stadium. I was in that stadium for all of the big games in the early 80s such as the Fourcade keeper, and the wind blown field goal. A neighbor was a big State fan and one day asked if I wanted to walk to a game of theirs in 1980. Didn't even tell my mom, just fell in with them and went. Ended up being the game where they beat #1 Alabama on a goal line stand and ended the Bear's 2-year win streak.
Lots of high school friends went to OM. So I would drive in on weekends and go to parties (Phi Delt Ivy League comes to mind) and enjoy the ladies.
I married an OM girl about 12 years ago. We have a yard full of kids, and take them to Oxford several times each year. We are saving money for a condo there one day. At least one of our kids will probably end up at Ole Miss.
On a "fan scale" of 1-10, I am probably about a 4 by the standards of this board.

Odd path here as well. Grew up in Baton Rouge, with a family that was all over the SEC, allegiance wise (strong OM, LSU, and Auburn connections). Went to LSU games throughout high school because, well, what else is there to do in BR?
It started when I opted to head to a small liberal arts school in the region, in order to play soccer. One of my best friends ended up at OM, and I'd visit him on occasion. Fell in love with oxford/OM, and decided on a whim to buy season tickets (this was 2011) for something to do on quiet weekends here. Two years later, I'm finishing up my last semester of undergrad and am heading to OM Law in August. Looking forward to being in Oxford.

Mine is quite simple ... both my parents were Ole Miss grads and basically since I was born I was brought to OM football, basketball & baseball games.
Growing up in Memphis made being an OM fan really easy but as I got older I entertain "taking my talents"
somewhere else. I visited other school but none of them held up to what I held in my heart for OM so I knew then that it was pointless to go anywhere else.
OM is my passion and I can't wait untill I am that retired old dude sitting up on the City Grocery porch drinking my bourbon or gin and hollering a t all the young hot coeds walking below while I finish my pregame routines.
ETA: not in a creepy stalker way but as in a pumped rebel ... that might just had little too much to drink and doesn't give a frick way
