Women's BasketballPosted by OleVaught14 on 12/6/20 at 11:44 am

I know not the most popular sport at Ole Miss, but our women's basketball team looks good this year.
Beat Mcneese State by 55 to open the year and beat a decent Kansas team by 17. Should be undefeated going into SEC play and a big 12/31 matchup against South Carolina.
Coach Yo seems to finally have the roster built the way she wants.

It could get exciting.

Those wins are also due to our new freshmen class and transfers making up the 13th ranked recruiting class. I'm just glad we'll be competitive for the first time in 4 years

I don't really follow Women's BBall but from the little I've followed haven't we pretty much always been garbage

We were really good in the 80s and fell off at the turn of the century. They've accomplished way more than the men's team in regards to the NCAAT

Maybe we score more than 5 points in a half against them this year or whatever it was embarrassingly from last season

Welp, the SEC losing streak continues. Couldn't hold a 4th quarter lead against a below .500 LSU team at home this afternoon. Lost 77-69 in OT. Good news is we would have never forced an OT in recent years.
Edit: I see now our girls were shorthanded and hadn't practiced but once in two weeks because of COVID. That definitely matters.

I actually watched it and we were up 13 in the 3rd quarter... only 8 players could play and we were missing our top 2 scorers. Once 3 of our ladies were in foul trouble we basically played scared the rest of the game.

Gonna lose to a a 4-3 no-conference win Mizzou at home..... there is no hope for either program it seems

Announcers said we looked tired. Not sure about that, but we definitely didn't look good against a bunch you'd think we could beat. Still got a ways to go with all these young gals. The big girl transfer is the best hope for immediate success, but all those freshmen are the real hope for long term success.
