I'm watching Alabama w/ a good crowd play their spring game today much closer to the regular season.

Its a glorified scrimmage at best, but it marks the end of practice. Meaning our guys will be on their for longer before start of fall practice. I would also think our tailgate loving fanbase would have preferred a chance to party in the grove.

If I’m not mistaken you can only have so many spring practices.
So us having our Grove bowl earlier just shows that we started spring ball earlier.
Not to mention honestly we may have scheduled it for when ESPN told us to if we wanted it to be on tv.

This is correct so the decision is based on how far away your want your last spring practice from your first fall practice. We will have much longer to wait. And if ESPN dictated the time, we should have told them no. We had a dismal showing and it was boring.

Our players didn't play in a bowl (obviously) and CML wanted them back on the field ASAP.

If the school actually wanted to promote it, it would’ve at least been on a home baseball weekend. I couldn’t care less about it though

State was also scheduled to end on 4/7.
