We've never played a PAC12 team in our entire history (football)

How can that be? Are there any other teams in the league in the same boat?

We need to schedule some for the new scheduling rule. That is ridiculous.

I haven't been paying attention. What's the new scheduling rule?

Starting in 2016 we have to schedule at least 1 non conference opponent from a BCS conference

Yep. Has to be one of the "Power 5" conferences.

I really hope we don't just schedule a bunch of ACC and Big 12 teams. I wanna play Oregon, Stanford, UCLA, Wisconsin, Michigan...COOL road trips and teams.

Why? Yea, those would be awesome for the fans, but for a team like Ole Miss who is potentially on the edge of busting into the tops of the SEC West, why would you want to schedule teams that would be pretty much automatic losses?

Cuz I ain't fuggin skeered.

If we're anything like what Freeze seems to be building, 2016 and beyond will be good enough to compete in a home and home with those teams, IMO.

Everyone said TX would dismantle us twice... Then we shut them out in the 2nd half in their own stadium in front of 100,000 people ...

I think Illinois is a good fit... The coach at Crete-Monee likes Ole Miss a lot and that could give us some more exposure in that market

North Carolina and TCU make sense as well

You are in for a surprise if you think Texas was the same caliber team as Oregon and Stanford......

Our AD would just apologize after the loss.

Both those teams are much better than TX right now... But when it comes to tradition and recruiting they are both behind TX most years... Still doesn't mean we should be scared to play them.

I like these ideas a lot better. Maybe Miami or, if you wanna go out to the Pac10, maybe an Arizona or Washington St.

This is not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is that, why would you schedule a team of that magnitude where you could potentially go (lets say) 10-2 with your one of your losses being to a power conference team that you thought you could beat only to hold you out of the playoffs...that would suck so hard

I never mentioned anything about tradition, but I do agree.

If anybody goes 11-1 in the SEC they are in the playoff.

I understand what you are saying and I agree but the point you just tried to make using that example was fricking dumb.
