I wish he would not use Turner at all during the week, at least behind the plate. Catching is grueling and we need him in the post season. If he is going to catch all 3 weekend games, he needs to DH during the week.

I swear the only reason Orvis plays first and not DH is because he is left handed. It's dumb as frick.

Turner is on the watch list.. The more he guns down stealing will help even against mid week teams...Believe it or not there is a method to the madness

Orvis is an incredible defensive first baseman... He only has one error on the year and that came on a really tough play at FIU that could've been ruled a hit... He's been really unlucky with hard hit balls right at poeple.. His OBP is .330 so he gets on base 1 out of every 3 ABs.

Orvis is a good first baseman.I do not buy that unlucky hitter stuff ...He will have to make adjustments. I think Orvis is a better 1st baseman than Allen. But Preston is better than them both...Bianco is trying real hard to find them all places to play.

My issue is that Allen swings the bat much better when he is in the field. If you look at his stats last year and this year where he was DH and when he was C/1B, it's a huge difference. Playing DH affects Orvis much less.

I wish Allen would catch on Saturdays just to rest Turner FWIW. Allen isn't a bad defensive catcher.

HottyToddy I agree with you I believe Allen is struggling not having a position to play.. We had a senior that hit a 100 points higher and fielded better and shared time last year.Bianco has his favorites

We needed him last night gunning down a couple of those runners stealing third.

I am going to say I do not care!! If a kid has a better batting average than his competition he should play..lucky unlucky whatever ..Hitters need to make adjustments. As you continue to play teams figure out where you can it the ball to..If you feast on inside pitching they will fix that quickly that is what competitive team do... I say after arky series scounting reports will go out..I think it is not good for team moral to let a hitter go 0-12 and just keep leaving him in there..Let somebody else have a shot at it.

That logic is a little flawed. Batting average is a shallow stat. It tells you how well someone has done, but it doesn't work as a projection stat by itself. Anderson wouldn't be playing this year if batting average determined everything. You have to weigh it against things like BAbip and Con% in order to get project a player accurately. Luck is a huge variable in baseball when trying to predict trends.

Anderson would be playing he is the best option this year plain and simple..He is hitting the ball well..his fielding needs work but he is the better shortstop between him and Jake.
