Hard to get mad at the kid for quitting if he was unhappy or if he was risking an injury, but to quit at this point in the season is kind of cheating other guys. Ordway missed 2 games he could have played in to get used to college football at the beginning of the season and now we'll have to take off the redshirt because we need the depth for the rest of the year. I hate it for Tee because he had such an inspirational story and seems like a great guy, just wish they had figured out this would be a problem before the season started. But certainly wish him the best and Oxford is a hell of a time when you don't have to worry about waking up early the next morning for football practice.

I know you have some people's respect on here Sorantable, but to say Bye Felecia to one of our own players? Who did more with his impairment than you could ever hope to achieve? People like you make me sick.

Is Felicia the new n-word or are you just a pussy?

Lol I've personally never heard it.
I'll never understand why these kids quit. There is so much time and energy that goes into recruiting. Schools take a chance on a kid, give them a education, and then they turn around and spit in our face. Disability or not, kid is a beast. All the talent in the world, but a quitter should be shunned.

quote:That's a pretty narrow minded statement. Just because a man or woman is born with an athlete's body, or the ability to play a piano at sight, or the ability to do complex math in their head....none of that means they are obligated to use those gifts the way other people expect of them.
a quitter should be shunned.
Just because you are good at something, doesn't mean you enjoy doing it. Maybe he wants to spend more time on something that gives him greater fulfillment.
By all accounts, he's a brave kid for overcoming all that he has in his life. Maybe this is just another way he is demonstrating courage to the rest of us: making a hard choice that he knows will be unpopular but that he also knows is right for him. That takes guts.
As for you saying he should be shunned? Honestly, GFY. If you choose to shun someone because they owed you something they didn't repay, then that's your choice. Tee doesn't owe you a damn thing.

Obviously I was being sarcastic.

*The not understanding why kids quit was being serious. The quitters should be shunned was the sarcastic part.

Sucks he's quitting. Surely in the next few years there will be some technology breakthrough that will improve his hearing disability.
Correct me if I'm wrong but in the NFL players have a headset and can communicate with the coaches directly (or maybe just the captions or QB)?
Either way, there's got to be something for him on the roster. What about kick or punt returns? Can't get in trouble for playing through the whistle there.

Well he may not have it, but just the advent and progresa of biotechnology leads me to believe that if he had the talent to compete in the NFL, his disabilities will be taken care of, one way or another.
