Let Freeze ride his salary another year. Lets just be 100000% sure it wasn't the 13 class players completely cover up his flaws. I seriously doubt that but he was rewarded last year. We can't give him a raise every year.
Give Bjork a raise and pay Kiffen, Wommack, Warner and Luke (4 coordinators). Leave everything as is.

You are the most pessimistic Ole Miss fan I've seen, and that's really saying something.

I think giving Freeze another raise isn't prudent at all. If we don't land a crazy good recruiting class then we look even more foolish giving the staff raises too.

The team has improved every year, I don't see a problem. Although I would prioritize giving assistants raises, we're towards the bottom of the SEC in that regard
Posted on 12/11/15 at 2:34 pm to MoreLandshark
Well the problem is being blown out by Memphis and Florida who both lost 3 games. Our defense looking lost for most of the year also doesn't sit well with me. I just feel like we're getting Sexton'd again.

You mean Hugh Freeze is a good coach doing a good job in a competitive environment? Well, No shite. We pay him $4 million a year. We should expect a good job.
I've got friends who are 20-year veteran MDs on Wall Street who's total comp packages haven't exceeded $2m a year since the 2008 financial crisis. Some of these guys directly add $15-20m to their company's bottom line every year. And they don't make the kind of money Freeze makes.
I realize it's the market, but it's gotten excessive.

I agree. If nothing else give what you would give to Freeze to Bjork and the assistants.

There are other boards that I'm on that would laugh you off the site if they heard you say doresrules is pessimistic. Lol
Make the case for Bjork deserving a raise.
I don't think he is a bad AD, he just hasn't hired anyone to see how good he really is. He essentially has been handed the three best coaches outside of Vaught at the same time. What tough decision has Bjork had to make? Whether to wear the blue or red blazer?
Let me stop before he gets on here and dares me to meet him at Huddle House...

Believe it or not, there's more to an AD's job than hiring coaches. His vision, fundraising, etc is light years ahead of anything the GOB crew used to do.
Oh, and I'm in Dallas right now and will meet you at any 24 hour breakfast joint of your choice to fight you.

Both of your are probably correct. Bjork has helped redefine our athletics programs but it isn't a fair comparison to the shithouse that it has been for the past few decades.

Lol
Vision? What vision? Taking the best stadium layout and throwing it in the trash and leaving us with this TJ Maxx renovation we are getting. Expansion not level with west and east side, keeping the old housing unit for the monitor, part of renovation with columns, other part no columns, and doing nothing to bring uniformity to the stadium.
How hard can it be to raise money in the best sports period in Ole Miss history in over 50 years?
And let the NCAA come in on his watch and bih slap him during the Tunsil situation. Miles would say he has no chest.

You just showed your arse and how you have no clue on our fundraising in the past, or present. You are also ignorant to our current situation regarding donation potential and pledges. Bjork tapped out our big players over a year ago and has gotten pretty damn creative to bring in the money we now now have. Assuming you're an alumni who has donated any to our Univeristy, you would have known this. As much as we'd love to have all the features you desire in our stadium, it simply isn't possible. Maybe we'll get lucky and spawn a few billionaires in these next few classes, but until then, we've done the absolute best with what we have. The last paragraph makes me think you have more relation to Coach34 than Luke, so at least you dismissed rumor.

We just had a guy donate 25 million and you are acting as if there is no money to be found.
As I mentioned earlier, Bjork isn't doing a bad job with what he has been handed. He hasn't made any tough decisions and sorry if I'm not impressed with getting people to donate in the best athletic period for this school in 50 years.
Outside of attacking my credibility, please feel free to make the case for why Bjork would deserve a raise. What exactly has he done that warrants a raise?

When I'm a billionaire in twenty years, I will consult the Ole Miss board on SEC Rant for which renovations you would like to see done, until then, you will have to do with Bjork's vision.

Even after the above expansion, the Ole Miss football stadium will be dead last in the SEC. Ole Miss should take some pointers from State on how to really build a football stadium instead of settling on "meh".

Made good hires
Done a good job handling the NCAA
Boosted donations
Handled renovations on time, and under budget
Established a positive attitude around the athletics programs
Installed accountability and reporting metrics
Increased GPA and graduation
Improved the University's image
Improved communication between the coaches and the administration
Increased fan and alumni involvement in athletics
Among other things.
He is widely considered to be one of the Top 10 young ADs in the country. We should get the most from him while we can. When he leaves, we should hire someone who can hope to continue his momentum.

Davis Wade still looks like shite.

It looks like shite. Either rip out the FedEx building and training center and do it right, with a proper entrance -- or don't do it at all.
What they've proposed is an absolute embarrassment. Our stadium looks like some SimCity reject project because the player ran out of land.
Why anyone would think a damn overhang onto another building is in any way aesthetically sound deserves to be fired. Not that I'm blaming Bjork and I personally love the guy and think he's incredible. This is crap.
We've gone from Frank Lloyd Wright to Lloyd Christmas.

But...but...it's all that Ole Miss can afford.
