After enduring the unrelenting heat of summer in Oxford, I've found myself looking for a new swimming hole for me and the dog to cool off a bit. Not much luck online other than the Abbeville waterfall so I figured I'd ask my fellow Rebs as a last resort.

Anyone know a spot?

Not so much a literal swimming hole, but Sardis is a pretty good spot to take the doggos

Yea, I can’t really think of many natural ‘swim holes’ but Sardis is chill. When I took summer classes, I used to get a bunch of craw fish, get a six pack of tall boys, and go chill out on the tailgate on the lake. I had some old shitty light weight Nikes I wore to swim in, because there’s some broken glass if you go to the beach closest to Oxford. It’s a good time, and safe to swim in. I met a lot of people out there. Met these locals one day that let me go tubing and jet skiing with them. It was dope.

That place in Abbeville is cool but if you don’t bring a pair of chacos or old beat up tennis shoes to wear you’ll keep slipping on the rocks/clay repeatedly, especially after a few beers.

Not a swimming spot but Lake Puskus is a nice place to go fishing and bring the dogs even though the park wasn’t very well maintained the last time I went a year ago.

I’ve heard some stories but we got caught by a park ranger once that just sternly told us to pick up our empties and leave. Recommend bringing a big tumbler and making trips to your vehicle to fill it up if you wanna drink there
