I said the same thing when we switched to the black bear. If we had put a live bear on campus it would have been much more accepted than the ridiculous costumed version we had. There's a different level of respect when you have a live mascot on campus. Even when it's a freaking pig up in Fayetteville.

The bear mascot outfit looked waaay better than our radioactive, deformed Jaws lookin thing we have now

As much as I hate to be this way, I agree. Whenever thoughts of donating enter my brain, it's hard to justify. I grew up a die hard rebel fan my entire life and love the university outside of athletics, that's why I turned down basically free college in my state to go to school in Oxford. Not a smart financial decision, but I didn't want to regret not going. I'm not a doctor or lawyer, never wanted to be, but I did give UofM and Oxford a shite ton of money for an education I could have gotten for free. Just saying. I imagine I'm among the more willing to give in my lifetime, but I'm definitely jaded haha
