We have a bunch of guys with potential (Cioffi, Roth), but it’s almost too late in the season to start completely new experiments

Also couldn’t predict stokes and woolfolk losing 3-4 off their velo. Just a perfect storm right now. State getting hot, our arms are tired as shite, Grae and a couple others have cooled down.

There are no off weeks, especially considering we couldn’t even sweep the likes of Tennessee at home. We’re starting to WAOM at the exact wrong time, which is a pretty integral part of WAOMming. Hopefully we right the ship and do something like sweep the Coonasses this weekend

Can we stop this WAOMing shite? Every team in the nation goes through something like this to a degree. Nut up and find that clutch factor.

No. Only Ole Miss can stop WAOMming. We are but only witnesses

WAOM?
WAOM.
It's the salve that eases the pain.

It’s funny how you mentioned we need a week off. Before the game while I was standing by the dugout talking to some of the starters, something similar was mentioned. I asked some how difficult it was for some coming from high school ball or other ways, felt it differed from the grind of the SEC gauntlet. Some of them were more open to discuss it than others, and agree they get tired and exhausted at certain times, but really none of the starters from day one will be granted at least one or two days.
They wouldn’t say it, but you could tell that the coaches may not have the confidence in the backups or may not want to mess up the chemistry of the team. And I can see why at times, because we do have a high fielding percentage number. And also if they are going to move on to the bigs, it will only get tougher and longer seasons. I can see maybe the coaches trying to prepare them for that grind, but at the same time you don’t want to over work them to the point of injury and potentially hurt their career later on.
It’s a fine line to walk. You want them on the field every day to give us better odds, but also need to look at when some could use a day here or there to rejuvenate. I mean they have school, homework, tutoring, practice and whatever else they do besides going through one of the toughest leagues. It has me kind of torn because we know that after college it doesn’t get easier. Only longer seasons on a bigger stage, but at that level you at least have guys on the bench who you wouldn’t hesitate to put in for a few games.
Again, none of them actually used most of those words, but you could tell, beating around the bush, that they were trying to say that or insinuate it. I was happy to be there and to be able to talk to most of them. Realizing they are just normal guys who love the game and are humble. I’ve been around a few other teams from juco to low minors or other colleges, but never had a group of guys that were more down to earth and played just for the love of the game like this team. This might be one of my favorite teams we’ve had at OM in a long time. You could tell that they had each others backs no matter what.

All teams have 'WAOM' moments. Auburn beat Georgia AND Alabama, then proceeded to lose both the SECCG and following bowl game while Alabama backdoor'd into another National Championship game.
Alabama was on route to another NCG appearance when Kick-Six happened.
Georgia got beat by a backup quarterback in the last quarter of the NCG.
It happens to the best.
However, with Ole Miss, it's constant and consistent and we have no 21st century championships to hang our hats on and say, "Well, sometimes it goes your way and sometimes it doesn't.". It never goes our way. Beating Alabama twice was such a series of anti-WAOM events that you could almost feel the universe groan as its natural laws were being violated to accommodate the anomaly. It was only natural that the goofiest play in college football history would be the ultimate undoing of a promising season, followed by the incompetent meltdown of an athletic department's legal handling of an NCAA kangaroo court and the resulting prostitution scandal with a head coach that built his entire image around his sanctity.

WAOM is more or less Clemsoning. We just need to make sure we have our Dabo when the traditional power loses their coach (Bama - Saban) so we’re there to help fill the void like Dabo did with Clemson after Bowden retired from F$U.
Still, there is genuine anxiety that comes with a 21 point lead because history shows we have a knack for blowing big leads, and the anguish of blowing winnable games time and time again isn’t the same as losing a national title because we’re a historic have-not and don’t even get that far. I mean, just look at the Arkansas game last year. My friend’s brothers who go to Arky we’re sitting with us at VHS and were about to leave to go back to the Grove when the lead ballooned to its largest, but I assured them Ole Miss would find a way to blow it, and sho ‘nuff the entire offense shite the bed in the second half and Bert stole yet another game he didn’t deserve in Oxford. WAOM is a predictable meltdown, especially when hype and expectations are seemingly beginning to manifest into reality. It’s not the end of us, especially since we should be pretty damn used to overcoming it by now.
Let’s not WAOM tonight, or tomorrow, or Saturday. Let’s beat these coonass cocksuckers

WAOM can mean two things. A symbol of pride, or a symbol of how much we choke. I choose the latter and I’ll keep it that way until we actually do something of significance

Every team in the nation goes through this stuff, I won't call it "WAOMing" unless we don't make the supers
