Some time it’s better to be lucky than good.

I hope Ethridge and Caracci are not available tonight. Those guys need some rest.

They aren’t pitching tonight.

We need to run Connor Green out there to get some outs. Not sure if he’s injured or in trouble with the coaches but tonight is a perfect night to get 2-3 innings out of him.

Winning these midweek games makes the road to 40 wins so much easier

Huge win tonight. Getting it in a dominating fashion is freaking great for our late season RPI also.

Ughhhh I really don't want to have to play them again in a regional.

Playing USM would be a nightmare. I think we’d win, but man if we didn’t they would never let us forget.

My thought exactly. Didn’t like seeing USM there. But I do enjoy being paired with Indiana in the super.

Fun I know, but there are too many carts being put before the horses here to even count.

I agree with this, but not much would need to improve to make me confident of a national seed, assuming we escape major injuries and none of our current top performers go into a tailspin.

The changes I'd hope for are for Rolison to get back to form, obviously; either Woolfolk or Stokes to reclaim their command of the lower zone; and for Dillard to put the ball in play a little more often - he's currently whiffing on 1 out of 4 plate appearances; just cutting that to 1 out of 5 could be the difference in a couple of close games.

I know - that's all easier said than done.

If all of that happens, then we will probably be playing for a national title at the end of the year. Unfortunately, I dont see Woolfolk or Stokes suddenly adding 3-4 mph back on their fastballs. I do have confidence in Rolison getting back in a groove though

Glad y’all had the recap of the game here. Somehow in this day and age I completely lost a day. For some reason I was ready to see the game today ha. Glad we won in convincing fashion. Especially there. Now to keep those bats and pitching going this weekend.

The d1 bracket is fun to look at, but we all need to wait until the end of season and then look. Kinda like in football. Play each play as hard as you can and don’t look at scoreboard until final whistle. Whether we win or lose, we will know they laid it all on the field. We have the team for it, but don’t need to start having injuries or other stuff. I know it hurts teams in most sports, but with baseball, a starting pitcher or a couple full season starters in the field go down and it can effect the whole lineup and their chemistry. I believe we have guys to step up, but just saying it’s real early to think about any tournaments.

Don’t want that to come across as being negative. Just trying to not get my hopes extremely high, even though I believe in our players and staff. Thanks again for the updates. I would rather get my news here than other places. Fixing to look into grabbing some tickets for the game in Pearl against State.

Eta: Sorry chasjay, didn’t look before I posted where you mentioned the injuries and other things that hopefully won’t happen. Wasn’t trying to steal your comment.

That great advice for the baseball team and coaches.

Me as a fan I can sit here and feel fine about discussing something that a major baseball news source puts out. And I know that things can change based on us falling apart are keeping it all together.

Yea, it was mainly for just a few that may not realize how fast things can go down hill from being a lifelong fan. Some newer fans may not understand how things can look good now but can unravel quickly. Not saying we will because I love this team and their fight. Just trying to remain level headed for now.
