Agree. Especially against a quality team like Long Beach State on the road.

I’m not sure LBSU will be the team they have been in years’ past. I certainly don’t think they’re a 37 win team this season, but they might get better. They’re already 4-8 on the season (albeit with a very quality OOC schedule so far), but a cross-country series win is good regardless of opponent

Damn, we really should’ve swept this series, but I’ll take it. Offensive explosions on the road are always fun

Agree about losing Friday because of defense, but we got pretty lucky to win Saturday. Batting .000 with runners on and winning doesn’t normally happen. I’ll take 2/3 on the road all day.

I’m going to be a nervous wreck the next small ball team we face, especially in SEC play. Completely negates awesome pitching when we play that sloppy of defense. I get that it was a double header halfway across the world but we looked bad more than a few times out there on defense

What an exhausting series. The first game was a combination for success for Long Beach. Jet lag, then being a double header, and a type of pitcher we haven’t seen yet. Mostly offspead and a favorable strike zone for him. Who knows, our guys might have even stayed up to long Friday night out of town. Mistakes were made, but going out there and winning the series with fricked up winds is fine with me. Just need to clean up some of those mistakes.

We were never going undefeated, but we need to take as many as those types of series possible. Even after this weekend, I still like the fight in this team. I think we are going to be ok.

I’ll be happy if we take 4/5 at Swayze this week, but I’ll be even happier if the lone loss doesn’t come until the weekend, though Peay’s RPI is a very nice 69

ETA: so yeah, autocorrect has just gotten weird on this site haha

Anybody else think Austin Peay has a cool logo?

Glad Dillard has got back on track after a rough weekend.

He was gassed. Id be interested to see if him and Stokes could switch roles. Roth is only good for about 2 or 3

I was at the game and the stretch from 5-4 to 9-4 was some of the most miserable, cold wind I’ve ever withstood. It was crazy watching the ball move off the bat tonight

Right field was packed initially, and there was an ok showing in the stands. Once we up 5-1 and the wind really started whipping, people cleared out pretty quickly, and the game slowed down substantially. There were like 300 people total it seemed by the time the game went 10-4.

HYDR

Good win tonight vs Littile Rock 10-2. Basketball is over, which I look at as a blessing. This is Baseballs year. Our football team wasn't much to lean on, and our basketball team was just as bad, if not worse. I'm all in on our baseball team this year. I got a great feeling about this team. They're very competitive all around, and gritty. I like what Ive seen so far, but we'll see how good we really are once SEC play starts.
