With the watchESPN app on Apple TV and the SEC Network, I will be able to watch pretty much every big three SEC sporting event, which is great.

I guess I'm just one who doesn't care to watch other schools play for the most part. The few games i do care about are gonna be on TV regardless so it doesn't matter.

Some original programming like SEC storied will be nice but other than that what're they going to have? A bunch of ESPN knockoffs? Meh.

The live sporting events will be the biggest draw for me.

I'm guessing they'll have college baseball on the weekends.

From Mrsec on impact of SEC network for us and State...

quote:

Ole Miss and Mississippi State -- Every school in the SEC will profit from the new channel. Eventually, schools could bring in upwards of $30 million additional dollars per year, thanks to the SEC Network. The money will be split evenly among the schools and the conference office, so there will still be some haves and have-nots inside the league. Alabama's athletic budget will always be larger than Mississippi State's, for example. But those schools with the league's smallest budgets -- like Ole Miss and Mississippi State -- are about to leapfrog dozens of other nationally-known programs. When the channel reaches its full potential, the schools in the Magnolia State will have athletic funds equal to massive athletic brands like Notre Dame, Southern California, Florida State and Texas.

I'm pretty excited. Not so much for the football and basketball since I'd be able to watch those anyway. But for sports like baseball that will likely get a lot more airtime with the SECN. We're lucky if we see two games a season not involving UofL on TV here.

Like I said, I'm excited that we will have a real football budget now.
