I don't think so. He's one of the top ten highest paid coaches in the game already.

I think that quote is him saying he's learned his lesson from last year and isn't going to repeat that mistake

It wouldn't have mattered what he said, there are plenty out there who want to both stir the pot, and to a lesser extent, attempt to undermine what we have going on. Even if he had said point blank, "I am not looking to leave, and I am not going to Texas A&M," there would have been those who would say he's just trying to get us off his scent.

This. 99% of the cfb universe do not want us to have a competitive football team. Will never be one of the ones who get the benefit of the doubt or the fanfare just for showing up like so many others.

Honestly, I have wondered if Sexton has it in his client's contracts that they cant ever make definitive statements like that sot that he always has bargaining leverage

re: Kiffin— I think the UGA game probably gave him a lot to think about, and as much as some of you think we’re thisclose to playing ball with the Bamas and the UGAs of the world, the reality is we’re nowhere close. Closer than we’ve ever been, sure, but still losing handily. Like he said, we have one 5-star and they had 24. That was an illuminating quote. He can carve out a great career at Ole Miss, and I hope he stays, but I totally get it if he wants to coach somewhere where it’s easier to lure top-end talent and compete with those bigger programs.

We beat a national champion Alabama on their home field less than a decade ago.

Defensive recruiting was solid last year and even better this year. We’re going to be a top 5 defense in the country that can shut down any offense in 2 years. Offense? That’s a different story. We are lacking bad in that category as far as 4 and 5 stars go. I wonder who is the CEO of the offense???

Slow down there Pete. Let's just get to above-average first.

And with the playoffs expanding to 12, Kiffin should have us in playoffs contention most years, and make the playoffs every 3-4 years. At that point, the right QB and some luck...

The d line is going to be incredible in two years and Perkins will be a junior with 2 years of experience. We have totally swept state and others in a year rich with D-Line talent which never happens. Why can the defense not be incredible?

Seriously though i see no reason for us to not have a great front 7 in the next 2 years... we gotta get better with our DB's

DBs are my only concern as well. I think travaris banks from T Town will be an absolute stud for us though. Hopefully bama doesn’t come calling for him and we can hold on
