Wommack has made every offense look incredible

Just checking in on this thread again. If he isnt fired within a couple of weeks at the end of the season, then Hugh is not truly committed to winning the SEC.

I've said it several times; I have no earthly idea how Wommack was allowed on the plane ride back from Fayetteville. OR Baton Rouge.
And he will now be on the ride back from Nashville.
This shite is so old. If he had any self respect he would turn his resignation in because Freeze sure as hell ain't gonna pull the trigger

Hugh needs to restore some faith to the fanbase and fire him now. Hire Tom Allen please

Damn y'all, we have the money to hire a real proven DC. Go for someone big damnit.

Who would you want, besides Aranda?
Nowadays Idgaf as long as we get someone competent.

This. Do we want to get to the next level, or just be better than we are now (which isn't saying much)? Let's act like one of the other programs in the West and go for the gusto. I'm tired of our program just saying WAOM and striving to be middle of the pack.

This game is bloody unbearable. I'm at the point in this season where I legitimately have no respect for Freeze because he is a terrible manager.
This is similar to not firing an employee who embezzled funds.

Based on our entire history as a program, I don't want to get my hopes up about making a real program changing hire

Part of me wants to think that Freeze has a sense of self-preservation and realizes that if he doesn't make a change, he will be the next to go.
But I can't count on that because Freeze has proven to make some ridiculous decisions.

Vandy's drives to start the second half:
90 yds - TD
21 yds - FG (following fumble)
72 yds - TD
6 yds - punt
72 yds - TD
Three long TD drives in one and a half quarters from a team that was averaging 13 points in SEC play

Someone's "inside source" (I think from the Spirit) said that the defensive staff was playing for their jobs last night. If that was truly what Freeeze said, then there's no way they make it until Monday. Unfortunately, that's obviously total bullshite and we can look forward to a Wommack lead defense and a very likely embarsssing defeat in the Egg Bowl.
It's obvious I'm a huge fan and have supported this team through the good and the bad since I was born a Rebel fan some thirty years ago, but I'm not sure I can sit through another performance like that this Saturday against State. We've become the laughing stock of CFB and I'm livid at our University for letting it happen. We had so much momentum and fricked it all up. From the chancellor and AD fricking up the NCAA thing to Freeze for letting us get this way with an inept staff. fricking disgusting. My liver also blames them for the trauma it's experiencing this morning too. I'm not sure it can take another year on this roller coaster knowing that the tracks are held together by duct tape.

The things we need to do are simple: stop being quite so gimmicky on offense, have a more reliable running game, and play defense better. That really is about it. Doing these things is not so simple, however.

As much as we want to call ourselves WRU, we had a lot of bad drops last night. As "gimmicky" as the playcalling was, we left at least 21 points on the board. Running game was good, don't know why we abandoned it.
If the defensive staff was coaching for their lives, they'd be fired already. Letting up 38 points to a team that hasn't scored more than 17 in SEC play is embarrassing. Starting to think the only way Wommack goes is if he has the dignity to resign. Freeze is too loyal to fire him.

I just don't know how you can essentially become the CEO of a multi-million dollar organization and not have sense enough to make difficult fires. It must be done, obviously enough. I will be very surprised if Freeze does not make a major move defensively. I don't agree with some that have grown impatient that he hasn't done it during the season. Not sure if that would have been the right move. The timing of Wommack's departure should be totally contingent on what happens Saturday. If we beat State, he should be let go the week after the bowl game regardless of how that goes. If we lose to State (heaven forbid), he should be let go next Monday.

I'm at the point where I would rather have anyone calling the defense than Wommack this weekend. Give Kiffin a chance. Wommack has had plenty of opportunities to turn it around, don't need another one this weekend against State.

That would make no difference other being symbolic to the fan base. It's like the guys that go out and buy a new expensive high speed pistol thinking it will impact their accuracy. It doesn't matter how much the gun cost if you haven't learned the fundamentals of sight picture/sight alignment and trigger control. Same thing applies to football. You can have all the talent but if you haven't taught the fundamentals from day one of Spring Ball it's not as though you can flip a switch and expect a major change in 1 weeks time at the end of a season.

Anyone who donates should call and say they are withholding donations until the defensive staff is fired.

Would you guys want Jim Leavitt? Was just thinking I doubt whoever the new coach at LSU is will let Aranda go. Strong isn't coming here. And when it comes down to Jim Leavitt or Tom Allen, I think I'd rather take Leavitt. Look at what he has done at Colorado. Only making $500k, think he'd come here in a heartbeat to use it as a leaping board back to a HC position. Better yet, he is a master at coaching linebackers.
Only thing interesting is if he fits the Freeze culture. I'm from Tampa, always seemed like a great guy before that whole debacle.
