Oh and the Facebook boomer fans are soooo happy with the Golding hire.

“It’s so great knowing we have someone who loves MISSISSIPPI and is LOYAL AND WONT LEAVE US LIKE KIFFIN!’l

Makes me fricking sick

Their donations and willingness to raise his pay say otherwise. I won’t pretend to know more than you but their actions say otherwise.

Right now they do. Let that rage from Kiffin leaving wear off. I bet you see a lot of them pull back unless Golding wins a few playoff games

I'll feel better if/when they make a couple of decent coaching hires. Right now it just feels like we are rearranging chairs on the deck of the titanic

They were trying to push Lane out since right before OU. Pete can talk to these people, Lane was too weird for them.

We just need to get AT and Bolden and we’re good. Maybe Baker.

Key. OM should be sending the jet to BR to pick him up tonight.

I feel like Lane and our boosters were more adversarial than anything. Lane would bitch that we couldn’t do something or needed something and the boosters would show up and say “oh yeah?” And fund it. I have no sources. Just my opinion and vibes.

If Carter has any fricking sense, he will not let Golding be the HC after the playoffs

The only material difference between an interim and full time coach are the salary and buyout. Pete was already making $2.6 mil so I assume that is now $5-7 mil plus incentives for the playoff.

He definitely isn’t getting a lane sized buyout. If it is just the last 2 years of his DC deal that is $5 mil which is absolutely no obstacle to moving on in the offseason if needed considering LSU just paid us $4 mil. I would be shocked if it is greater than $10 mil right now considering no one is bidding against us. In exchange we get to project stability to the media/potential coordinator hires while still keeping options open long term.

Might not be the best option, but hardly a bad play by Carter given that none of the top candidates wanted the uncertainty this cycle.

I don't think (hope) anyone will judge him on a playoff game in 3 weeks given everything.

Next season will define the story.

It would be nice to have some clarity on who all will actually be coaching us in the playoff.

Aww poor little Lane. College kids said mean no no words to him. he’s always given it his all, 110% of himself dedicated to this school and fanbase (especially in ‘22 and these last 6 weeks) and this is how he’s treated. He's so misunderstood

That was 100% a joke about only getting the job because Kiffin turned it down for what it's worth.

Overall I think things were pretty tame compared to his Tennessee exit. I mean, we didn’t even burn a single mattress.

Also, I used to think he was just trolling when he said things like this. Now I think he is just so autistic that he doesn’t understand any human emotions. He honestly believed that we would just be grateful for what he has done and be perfectly fine with how he left.
