I saw some chatter on tRant earlier about whether or not folks think the bowl ban will be lifted. FWIW reliable source let me know today it's a no-go. 99%. Just in case any OM folks were wondering. OM is technically still protesting as a formality..

It was because of a tweet from a fake Neal McCready twitter account.
Not sure why anyone would put much stock in the rumor even if it came from the real one though

As in OM admin is technically still protesting the Bowl Ban, but it's more of a formality at this point than anything. At least that's what I was told.

You are correct. They are just going through the motions at this point to appease some people. The bowl is a no go. Nothing will be able to lift it.

They're not going to lift it.

They aren't going to lift it, but it will be interesting to find out the verdict in lawsuit. Rebel Rags winning will put some egg on their face. How is that going?

The NCAA told Ole Miss to back off the RR case and supposedly the Admin is still trying to appease the NCAA and ageed.
The NCAA is hopelessly corrupt and Ole Miss Admin is hopelessly stupid.

Hell, they could do Ole Miss a favor and lift it... knowing full well that Ole Miss won't be bowl eligible anyways.

They'd probably rather postpone the ban until a season where we actually do win six games.

Is anyone really going to the BBVA Compass Bowl anyway if we got bowl eligible?

Ole Miss is not involved in that lawsuit though right? How would Ole Miss have any involvement in that?
I hope Rebel Rags goes the distance and wins. Sure, it will not bring Freeze back. It will not right the ship. But maybe it will make them (and MSU) pump the brakes the next time they trigger happy.
Still have no idea how a witness's testimony can condemn one school, but be deemed unreliable when discussing the school he actually signed with. Beyond absurd and since this is the second NCAA major investigation that has occurred during my fandom, I want some action taken to ensure this doesn't come about so easily a third time.

Well, according to the NCAA, cash gifts from those close to the player such as a family friend are permitted. According to the NCAA, the Co-Lin coach who is also the father of a fellow State player qualified for that relationship (somehow). Therefore, the $10,000 was simply a reasonable graduation gift from a family friend. According to the NCAA.
Basically the NCAA wasn't going to screw over their snitch despite the idiot incriminating himself. Not that it matters, the COI was to rubber stamp whatever comes down the pipeline.
Then the NCAA sends their marching orders out to their useful idiots (Wolken) to form the narrative. "NCAA punishes excessively cheating Ole Miss, who despite losing most recruiting match-ups, is tossing obscene amounts of cash at recruits. Please don't read our NOAs because we weren't able to document those instances."
