Here's a list of DBs for next season if all get qualified and get personal issues taken care of and can play.
I think CP ends up at OLB in a lot of the 3 man defensive line ups.
Depth may have finally come about, the talent and speed keep increasing. Q Mireles goes back to the receiving corps with Cody Core.
I could see 12 playing a lot of minutes in different packages. Competition will be fierce, it will make the secondary even better.
Tony Conner
Mike Hilton
Senquez Golson
Chief Brown
C.J. Hampton
Derrick Jones
Anthony Alford
Quintavius Burdette
Trae Elston
Carlos Davis
Cliff Coleman
Tee Shepard
Kendarius Webster
David Kamara
Calvin Moore
LaKedrick King
Tyriek Gracia
Justin Anderson
Bobby Hill

Doesn't it show you how shitty Southern Miss is that their starting quarterback would rather sit out a year at Ole Miss for a chance to play safety?

And he's from there.. That's a true testament to their shittiness.

He could possibly be the most athletic guy on the team. I went to the bowl practices this past season and he was unreal the week they were in Oxford. He was shedding blocks and tipping balls constantly on defense.
Then he was the scout team quarterback and he ran the damn option to perfection almost. One time he pulled up and through a laser down the field. He hit his receiver over the shoulder, in stride 30 yards down the field over Charles Sawyer. It was the most beautiful, tight spiral I saw any quarterback throw that week.
If we play him at safety, that's great. He'd do well there. But it would surprise me if Freeze didn't put him in the slot or give him some time as a wildcat quarterback.
Also, Fidol Brown is going to be a big leader on defense. When he was on scout team, he was always getting in the backfield, getting the scout players pumped up between each play and talking crap to Bo and the number 1 offensive guys.

I like that fire. We need it.

I talk shite to our number one offense from the stands everytime they get into the redzone...

I agree with you. I am just trying not to expect to much from him.

What exactly are y'all basing this on?

Dude he got scorched a couple of times this past season. Yeah he had some good games but, he is still very unproven. I just don't wanna get my hopes up and call him a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

You mean an 18 year old true freshman converted WR corner got burned by one of the best tandem WRs LSU has ever fielded? No shite, "dude."
I don't think anyone is calling him a draft pick quite yet either, though.
He also shut Mike Evans the frick down.

Then don't ask what I am basing this on. I am very happy that we have a young tall talented corner that "shut Mike Evans the frick down."

I was genuinely curious what you were basing it on.

isn't exactly earth shattering.
I, for one, thought he excelled at a position he had very little experience in (IIRC he play some DB at Eupora) and am excited to see what he can do in the future with his size, speed, and range.
Hopefully he won't get "scorched" too much next season. At any rate, there will be plenty of competition in the secondary, and I will not be surprised if he's got a spot day one. It also wouldn't surprise me if Webster or Shepard (barring grades) contest from day one.

You mean you're not sold on the guy who helped hold Mike Evans to 46 yards?
And Dorial Green-Beckham to 14. I'm not 100% jumping on the Jones Island train yet, but I am damn well close. Kid can play and he was a true freshman.
