I don't understand why -- as thin as we were at OL against Memphis -- that we didn't see Liggins on the line. Freeze said one time he was an NFL quality lineman.

I guess they've tried him there and he just sucks? Does anyone know?

What? How so? The only exchange (if you can call it that) that went badly was when Kelly dropped one that would have hit him between the 1 and the 0.

Go figure as to why Liggins can't find more playing time somewhere. He's like the ultimate utility player who never gets in the game.

Judd just seems more capable of cutting and continuing to move once he is hit.

I am not a fan of running back by committee. Would much rather have a marquee RB that gets the carries and gets warmed up, and finds his groove.

You look at the good running backs in college ball, and all of them are marquee backs. They get the carries and are given time to wear down defenses. With us, they rattle off a good carry and head to the sideline.

And though I hate Tub, he had the good sense to pick a marquee back (Deuce), who went on to an amazing career. Hell, Nutt was worse, but at least he had the good-sense to ride the coattails for McCluster. Game-time experience is invaluable. We gimp our running backs by shuffling them in and out so often.

What I like about Judd is he takes a hit and keeps those legs moving. Wilkins never does that it drives me crazy.

Freeze either A) doesn't know what he's talking about or b) doesn't know what he's doing

Tub found good backs. I agree with that. But he absolutely utilized two.

See John Avery/Deuce, Deuce/Joe Gunn, Cadillac/Ronnie Brown

Rudi Johnson seemed to get the lion share of the carries at Auburn, though. That dude was a magician.

I agree that we don't necessarily need three running backs. And as much as I love Walton as a playmaker, we don't need a 175 pound running back getting 15 carries per game between the tackles.

Walton is the best running back we currently have and it isn't close. He is actually probably the best we have at running between tackles because he doesn't require you to hold the blocks long. He also doesn't run like a 175lb rb. He has a ability to break tackles that most guys his size don't.

His struggles as well as everyone else is on 3rd and short or 4th and short when everyone knows a run is coming. It's a struggle for the team period. I say throw on those downs. Most teams expect run and load the box leaving our big wrs one on one.

We need three running backs because they get hurt. We've been lucky in that area lately. But we are due for some RB injuries.

He is right to be skeptical. Just played two teams that can't stop the run but now have #19 Ark and #7 LSU defenses against the rush. We are not a top 50 rush offense even after yesterday. I was surprised to see State not in top 50 rush d.

Not as bad as you seem to be making it out to be. We are a passing team. We rank 1st in the SEC in passing offense. We rank 7th in rushing in the 60s in the country. Meanwhile LSU is #1 in rushing and dead last in passing at #116 out of 127 teams. We are 1 spot below Auburn in rushing. If I told you before the season we'd be 7th in rushing at this point and 1st in passing there isn't a person on this board who wouldn't have taken that.

This team isn't winning the west running the ball. We just need it to be adequate to keep teams honest. But hey, we had nearly 600 yards and people still questioning the playcalling. Not sure what to say. How could we justify getting rid of the OC on the #1 offense in the conference... Makes sense...
